Xavier was an All-Conference selection last season, and he’ll be an important piece for the Spartans once again if they want to repeat the success they had last year as a team. The thing that stood out to me about Xavier at this camp was the quickness with which he executed his defensive drills. I was taking some pictures as players were going through their reps, and it took me a while to get a good shot of him. I know that’s a little different assessment, but that’s the best way to show his speed and agility. His recruiting has been a bit slower for now, but I think if he can have a good start to the year, college programs will be interested.

Perhaps surprisingly for his frame, Flowe is a better run defender than pass-rusher right now. He has great speed and lateral quickness and that translates to how he’s able to get over to outside runs and screens. He’ll want to add more weight, but his basic physical profile is excellent and we could see him start to see more action on the recruiting scene soon.
