One of the biggest participants during the Prepredzone Minnesota Spring Showcase was Minnetonka junior offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1517061' first='Griffin' last='Moore']. After watching him perform, he was also, clearly one of the best football players at the Showcase.

"I thought the coaches were pretty impressed with me in the drills," Moore said. "I killed in the one-on-ones. It was all together a great day. I am just grateful for the opportunity."

Moore easily attained one of his top goals for the day.

"I was looking to put myself out there in front of some coaches," Moore explained. "This was my first camp going into my senior year. I was going to ball out, and a lot more coaches are going to know who I am. That is what happened; a lot of coaches reached out to me after you guys posted the results and the stand-out players. I would say it was 'mission accomplished' for me."

Although he was - physically - one of the biggest athletes at the combine, Moore doesn't feel size is his biggest asset.

"Yes, I am big. I am 6'4 and 300 pounds, but I would like to think my greatest strength is that I can move fast. Not many 300-pound guys can move as fast as me."

"I feel like I am fast off the ball too," Moore continued. "I think my biggest strength is that ability to work on double teams and then get to the second level."

The Skippers' big man focused on football this winter.

"I have been lifting with the team. I lift three days a week along with agility training. Every guy in the program is not only getting bigger and stronger, but they are all getting faster, too. I think we have one of the best programs in the state."

While continuing his workouts this spring, he has also re-joined another program.

"This spring – along with lifting – I am throwing in track," Moore explained. "I threw my freshman year, but last year I dropped it. Our new offensive line coach is the new throwing coach. All of my O-line and D-line teammates are doing it. Even if I don't like it that much, it is a chance to compete and a chance to bond with my teammates."

In addition to strength and overall athleticism, Moore has put a focus on his approach to taking the first few inches of territory.

"It all starts with my first step. My coach has made it clear. The first step is what matters most. As a team, we struggled with our first steps. Once we got that fixed, we were unstoppable in the running game."

Once he gets back on the football field, Moore expects his role to change for his senior season.

"I played guard last year," Moore told Prepredzonemn.com. "From what I have seen, the seniors play tackle, and the juniors play guard. I was planning on playing guard, but early this offseason, my coach told me there was a good chance I was going to move to tackle. When I was at the combine, I split my time between the two. I wanted to get the best competition."

Off the field, one of the things Moore likes to do to take his mind off football is explore his artistic side.

"I like to play guitar. I like to play Irish jigs. My family has some Irish heritage in my background, and I personally really enjoy (that style of guitar)."

Moore already has some DI and DII interest.

"Recruiting has been going well. I have been to one other camp – Mankato – and they gave me my first offer. North Dakota has reached out. I toured St. Thomas and have been talking to Montana State."

More interest will be coming once camp season gets going full speed ahead. "I will be going to camps at North Dakota, Minnesota, and the River Falls mega camp."
