2025 is shaping up to be another excellent season across the state, and that includes Region VI in the 3A Classification.

Several players are expected to step up for their teams, as well as a couple players that are expected to build upon their production from last season.

Let's get into the likely MVP frontrunners for the five teams in the region.

OCEANSIDE COLLEGIATE ACADEMY

[player_tooltip player_id='1094944' first='Aiden' last='Manavian'] QB, 2027

Manavian (pictured) lit it up as a sophomore, throwing for 3,469 yards and 19 touchdowns. Six of those 19 touchdowns came in a game against Orangeburg-Wilkinson, so the touchdown numbers were a bit inflated because of that game. He added 211 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground, something he could continue to do this season. Five of Manavian's top six receivers from last season are gone, so it will be intriguing to see if he can put up the same kind of numbers in his junior season.

HANAHAN HAWKS

[player_tooltip player_id='1615084' first='Tripp' last='Gallus'] QB, 2028

In his freshman season, Gallus split time with [player_tooltip player_id='1165104' first='Julius' last='Hippenstiel'] and despite playing in four less games, Gallus threw for 1,148 yards and nine touchdowns, along with adding 128 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground. Gallus has three years left to develop, and while he has the potential to be considered among the best quarterbacks in the 2028 class, even a modicum of improvement year after after year from him will do wonders for the Hawks and their postseason hopes.

NORTH CHARLESTON COUGARS

[player_tooltip player_id='1346277' first='Lorenzo' last='Kitching'] ATH, 2026

Kitching was the leading receiver, best special teams return man and best defensive back for North Charleston last season, and he will have to do much of the same this season to get North Charleston back on track. He finished the year with 1,046 total yards (257 rushing yards, 389 receiving yards, 400 return yards) and 10 touchdowns (six receiving, four rushing). With both of his quarterbacks from last season gone, Kitching will be the focal point of the offense and will be asked to touch the ball nearly every play.

ORANGEBURG-WILKINSON BRUINS

[player_tooltip player_id='1126113' first='Jordan' last='Avinger'] ATH, 2026

Avinger was a part of a running back duo that fell just 117 yards of combining for 2,000 rushing yards on the season. Avinger himself had 869 of the 1,883 yards and scored 10 touchdowns, two more than his counterpart, [player_tooltip player_id='1361647' first='Derrick' last='Thomas']. Avinger averaged 15.5 yards per carry and 96.6 yards per game and had four games of 100-plus yards. Along with his ground attack, Avinger collected 275 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. He also finished with 50 tackles and six tackles for loss. All around, he may have been the best player for the Bruins last year and will look to do the same again in his senior season.

BATTERY CREEK DOLPHINS

[player_tooltip player_id='1717743' first='Eddie' last='Heyward'] RB/LB, 2027

Heyward was a bit of a hit or miss player in the ground attack last season, but that should turn to a lot more hit this year. He finished the season with 58 carries for 271 yards and three touchdowns. He led the team in rushing yards and will be expected to do much of the same again in his junior season. Defensively, he is all over the field at linebacker and will also be expected to continue his production at that position as well.
