<p><strong>CLOVER</strong> | Clover coach Perry Woolbright was pleased with the competition that he saw on both sides of the ball during Thursday's practice as temperatures reached the 80s in northwestern York County. </p>

<p>We were on hand for the entire session and here's a look at our notes and observations:</p>

<p>Quarterback <strong>Brody Woolbright </strong>has an ability to improvise and make plays with his feet, much like he did last year. He made one throw in the face of pressure to wide receiver <strong>Jacob Frantz </strong>and Frantz did the rest – he got up field quickly and made a play. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1407416' first='Aaron' last='Shealey'] </strong>(pictured right)<strong> </strong>got plenty of reps along with Woolbright. He is athletic and can stand in the pocket and make plays. He has a good flick of his wrist when the ball is released. </p>

<p>Don't forget about <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1603816' first='Grady' last='Stone'] </strong>in the backfield – he will fight for extra yards. There was one play that was initially a 4-yard gain but turned into an 8-yard gain early on. He runs with that burst of speed and power that is fun to watch. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1823062' first='Jaytwon' last='Croom'] </strong>looks primed and ready to back up Stone in the backfield.</p>

<p>The Blue Eagles will have to retool up front on the offensive line after a good nucleus graduated last year, and they held their own during the practice session. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1823071' first='Khari' last='Carey'] </strong>did a good job of holding his own at left tackle during an individual period.</p>

<p>Keep an eye on <strong>Justin Haywood </strong>at receiver. He has good speed for the position and we think he could be a go-to target on offense. Shealey threw a touchdown to him during a team period as they looked in command of the system. <strong>Jake Nicely </strong>made an acrobatic grab on a throw from Woolbright on the back end</p>

<p>Cornerback <strong>Najah Potts </strong>made an interception where he undercut the route during a good on good period in the early going. Linebacker <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1743683' first='Carson' last='Pinti'] </strong>will be counted on as one of the leaders for the Blue Eagles on defense, and he did a nice job of reacting quickly to one route over the middle and knocked the ball away. </p>

<p>Defensive lineman <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1404968' first='Jackson' last='Hill'] </strong>caught our eye at the Coaches Combine last month, and he looks primed and ready for a huge junior season. He did a good job of getting his hands up, showing good effort on a pass play. He picked up a sack as well. <strong>Keaton Huskey </strong>collected a pick six – he sank into his coverage and read the route perfectly to make the play. <strong>Omari Stroud </strong>showed nice closing speed on the ball where he met the receiver immediately. </p>
