Stratford's JQ Crosby made a nice completion on South's opening drive, setting up a fourth and short but Gaffney's [player_tooltip player_id='1394986' first='Zyon' last='Ratchford'] stuffed the run on 4th and short with 10:27 to play in the opening quarter. It didn't take long for the North team to take advantage as AC Flora's [player_tooltip player_id='1025784' first='Roper' last='Wentzky'] found Dutch Fork's [player_tooltip player_id='568697' first='Stone' last='Furrey'] for a 7-yard touchdown pass to give the North a 7-0 lead with 7:14 to play in the opening quarter.

Hampton County's [player_tooltip player_id='1165165' first='Jaylen' last='Singletary'] ended the first quarter with an interception.

The second quarter was a defensive stalemate as the teams would bend, but didn't break. South Pointe's [player_tooltip player_id='1165128' first='RJ' last='Brown'] picked up a key first down on 4th and 4, eventually leading to a 6 yard touchdown run to cap a 16-play, 81 yard drive taking up 7 minutes to give the North a 14-7 lead with 3:46 remaining before the half.

Philip Simmons's CJ Falotico knocked through a 22-yard field goal, cutting the North lead to 14-10 at the halftime break, as a big special teams play helped set it up.

The North team came out in the second half and was aggressive as Ware Shoals's [player_tooltip player_id='1821508' first='Jayden' last='Johnson'] came out in the wildcat, picking up a first down on 4th and short. They came back to him later on a short touchdown run, giving the North a 21-10 lead with 5:18 to play in the third quarter, capping another lengthy drive.

Brown (pictured above) found the end zone for the second time in the afternoon, to give the North a commanding 28-10 lead with 2:25 to play in the third quarter. It's been a busy last two weeks for him, as he won a state title with his Stallion team last week in Orangeburg, and then capped his career with a win here today.

He walked away with the offensive MVP for the South team rushing for 20 carries for 88 yards.

“It was a great week, coming out here, meeting new guys from the upper state and being around these guys. I made some new connections and new friends. Just being hard working all year long, this is what I work for,” Brown said.

But the South team wouldn't go away quietly as Crosby came up with another big completion to end the quarter, leading to a McCarthy to [player_tooltip player_id='1818714' first='Carter' last='Coleman'] for a 13-yard touchdown catch to cut into the North's lead at 28-17 with 11:53 to play in the quarter.

South cut into the lead at 28-20 with 8:58 to go with a Falotico 25-yard field goal. It didn't last long as Clinton's [player_tooltip player_id='1161156' first='Javen' last='Cook'] took the ensuing kickoff back coast to coast for a touchdown. [player_tooltip player_id='1592310' first='Quinn' last='Mahoney'] from Bishop England led South down the field on a 10-play, 52 yard drive to cut the lead to 35-27, setting up the exciting finish.
