The National Preps Collegiate Showcase was held recently at Archbishop Spalding HS (MD). It was the 16th year of the NP Showcase that consist of some of the top talent in the Mid-Atlantic region putting on a show for over 125+ college coaches from FCS/D2/D3 schools. Offensive Line may have been the strongest/deepest position group on the day with some high level prospects in attendance. Below are some of the top performers at the OL position from that day that I was able to get eyes on. I breakdown their play on the day and where their recruitment currently stands.

Christopher looks every bit the part as soon as he steps on the field. Measuring in at 6'4"+ and a lean 288lbs, he has elite size and length. An excellent athlete for the position, Chris can get out and run, plays on his toes and has no problem changing direction and flipping his hips without losing momentum. With really good feet, he is able to get them up & down quickly, with a nice kick step making it very hard for defenders to beat him around the edge. Christopher was dominant in 1v1s showcasing heavy hands, strong punch, and the ability to sink his hips and keep nice balance making him a wall. Currently holding double digit FBS/FCS offers, picking up a handful in the days following the showcase, Chris more than showed why he was one of the top OL there and should be getting some P4 looks this summer in my mind.

Max had a very impressive day at the showcase as was stellar in 1v1s, not losing a single rep to my knowledge. Measuring in a 6'4" 281lbs he has ideal size for the next level. He can play anywhere along the Oline, getting reps at both OT/OG and could even slide in at OC as he has been working on & improving his snapping. What I liked from Max after seeing him at the Showcase was his ability to sink/bend and stay low as he fires off the snap. He comes up off the ball with pop and hands up & in. He attacks the defender with heavy hands an a nice initial punch. Once Max gets into the opponents chest it is a wrap as he shows the ability to reset and drive. He's got active feet, keeps a strong wide base and doesn't over extend or lean.

Max recently picked up his first two offers FCS offers and more should be on the way for sure. I've watched Max a few times since the fall, he continues to get get strong and develop his overall game to make him a more versatile OL and is a no brainer FBS/FCS kid in my mind.

Kechan was easily one of the standout OL on the day and my have looked the best overall in position drill work to go along with being a stonewall in 1v1s. Measuring in at just over 6'2" and weighing 308lbs and also possessing excellent length to go along with a thick/wide & strong build. An outstanding athlete for his size, Kechan has great feet and can get out & go with suddenness/burst. Agile and light on his toes, he runs exceptionally and can change direction, move laterally and shift his weight form side-to-side with no loss of speed. He also showed off a nice kick-step in 1v1s This translates to him being superb in the pull game and not allowing defenders to beat him around his outside shoulder. Kechan isn't just all finesse though, he plays with a high motor and is very physical at the POA. Has a nice initial strike and plays with good hand placement allowing him to drive & bury guys once he gets in on them.

His recruitment has started to take off in the last month, racking up 8 total offers with one coming just days after the showcase. Kechan has an first rate skill set that colleges should not ignore. Don't be surprised is he pulls in a handful more of FBS/FCS offers in the next week or so.

A player I have been high on since seeing back in early fall, Kendon proved that as he had a very strong day and was the top overall performing underclassmen on the day. Measuring in at 6'6 1/4" and 283lbs, he has elite size for is position. With an excellent frame that is filling out and getting strong by the day. A nice overall athlete, Kendon plays basketball and wrestles. He has impressive movement, runs on his toes, active feet, and shows nice lateral mobility & flexibility. Kendon has good pop off the snap, powerful hands, and is smooth in his steps/footwork. In game he plays with some nasty and power as well, driving guys out of frame and good overall physicality.

His recruitment is taking off now, as Kendon picked up his first offer from Towson at the Showcase. Then proceeded to pick up offers from Boston College, Indiana, and Maryland in the week following the camp as results/film were sent out. That all tracks with what I said in my 2027 Rankings article back in March about him..."Kendon is a player that I can see developing into a Power 4 kid. Would not surprise me to see him picking up strong interest from colleges this spring and summer." He is proving he can be one of the top OL in his class and should see a rise in my next rankings as well as many more offers in his future.

A player I have now gotten to watch twice in the recent weeks and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, John was dominate all day long at the NP Showcase. Measuring in at 6'3 1/2" and 302lbs while running a 5.19 40, which is a more than good time for his size/position to go along with a 8'3" SBJ. John has a thick build with wide shoulders and a big chest, with lots of power in the upper half. he can run his feet and get up to the 2nd level and run in space. Combining that with his testing numbers, he proves he is a nice overall athlete with a high motor and plenty of force in his play. John also has wonderful bend and flexibility in his hips/knees, able to get ass-to-grass while keeping his heels flat. He comes off the ball well and gets a strong first punch while able to slide his feet with the defender making himself a brick wall you can get off of or around. I watched all his 1v1 reps on the day and he was having his way with defenders. Throwing them out the club, winning with power and athleticism. With a nice strong balanced base, John gets his hands in defender and it is over. Showed nice ability to re-set his hands and re-route the rusher on a few reps as well. John's impressive work during the 1v1 reps even got the coach running the drill (Coach Riley Cannon) all hyped up and he was a D3 All American OL at Salisbury, so safe to say he knows good OL play when he sees it.

A big fan of Curran's play style as he is a war daddy and a dawg in the trenches. Tough, nasty, physical, he finishes blocks and will bury guys into the ground. Type of player who will run through a wall, block you anyway he can, and doesn't give up on a play. Combine that with John also being a standout off the field as he is a high academic kid carrying a 4.3 GPA and you have a prospect every coach would want. John has has his recruiting explode in the recent month picking up double digit FBS/FCS offers, but he is a Power 4 player to me. Reminds me of former UMD/Vtech IOL Johnny Jordan, and Curran should be getting those type offers as well, and I expect them to be coming soon.
