One thing that Kansas athletes have going for them is the number of colleges and universities in the Sunflower State.

Kansas has an overabundance of higher education schools compared to other states with similar populations.

Kansas has two Division I football programs, four schools at the Division II level, one of the most powerful JUCO conferences in the country, and a bevy of NAIA programs.

It creates a competitive recruiting scene in the Sunflower State and plenty of open positions for high school football players to continue their careers.

Here is a look at six Kansas athletes who have recently received offers from NAIA programs in Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='283949' first='Jarek' last='Purdy'], ATH, 6'2”, 180, Hays, ‘26

Purdy is ranked No. 26 overall by Prep Redzone. He has recently announced an offer from St. Mary. He is a crisp route runner with breakaway speed and consistent hands. He has a ton of camp invites and should be easy to catch in person this spring. I expect the Hays prospect to receive several more offers before the fall season begins.

[player_tooltip player_id='812781' first='Trent' last='Rymer'], ATH, 5'10”, 170, Piper, '26

Rymer is a busy athlete and one I expect to see work out at a combine in the coming months. He recently announced on X that he has received an offer from the Saint Mary Spires. He recorded 120 tackles last season for the Pirates from his linebacker position. Rymer is ranked No. 28 overall by Prep Redzone.

[player_tooltip player_id='1425478' first='Jalen' last='Cheeks'], DB/WR, 6'1”, 190, Salina South, '26

Cheeks is a standout athlete who can play either side of the ball. He recently announced gaining an offer from the Bethany Swedes. He is ranked No. 86 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. He recorded 22 tackles last season for the Salina South Cougars.

[player_tooltip player_id='780477' first='Blaise' last='Adger'], RB, 5'10”, 190, Olathe North, ‘26

Adger has received multiple offers this season from NAIA programs. He currenlty has offers from Benedictine and Bethany. He rushed for 936 yards last season and made 14 receptions for 128 yards. He is an explosive threat who is difficult to tackle. The Olathe North prospect is ranked No. 97 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='1402683' first='Magnus' last='Larson'], TE/DL, 6'2”, 195, Olathe Northwest, ‘26

Larson has received an offer from Benedictine. The Olathe Northwest Raven could become a Benedictine Raven, although I expect he is not done collecting college offers. He finished his junior season with six receptions for 88 yards and 13 total tackles from his defensive line position. He is ranked No. 163 overall by Prep Redzone.

[player_tooltip player_id='1673808' first='Karson' last='Toburen'], LB/DB, 6'1”, 195, Rock Creek, ‘26

Toburen is currently an unranked athlete, but a profile for him has been created, and he will be added to the rankings later this summer. He finished his junior season with 66 tackles. He recorded 10 tackles for lost yardage, four quarterback sacks, and grabbed four interceptions. He has received an offer from McPherson College.
