MD Junior Skills Development Camp Top Performers: Part 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I was out at the Junior Skills Camp this past weekend put on by the Maryland Football Coaches Association. A great event each year showcasing some of the states premier 2026 talent, as well as being an early evaluation camp for next years Big 33 team. Standing 6'2" with a great frame that will continue to fill out well and excellent length. Fluid in his transitions, able to turn and run with receivers and use his length to get PBUs. Cain shows a great ability to run the route, stay on the WRs hip and can decelerate quickly, breakdown and break on the ball. Shows good physicality too, in coverage and in supporting the run. A nice overall athlete, Tim is rangy with a smooth stride and good burst, back up by his track results as he recently posted a 22.5 200M. A slot WR with nice twitch and burst, he is effective across all 3 levels of the passing game. Can take a jet sweep or quick pass for big yards, capable of working across the middle and making a tough grab, and can stretch the field vertically a deep threat. Chris showed off quick feet and quick COD in his route running. He is able to create separation from defenders, and make his own space in making guys miss in the tight spaces. Chris also demonstrated strong hands and good ball skills, able to find the ball quickly and go make the catch...plays bigger than his size. An All-County basketball player as well, you can see where he gets thats nice change of speed and quickness from. He is tough to move as he proved in 1v1 during the showcase. Jabari is quick off the snap to get hands into the defenders chest and know how to sink/roll his hips to set in a strong base, stopping the defenders upfield progress before he then drives them out the way. Jabari also have quick, nimble feet able to get a good first step off the snap and maneuver well in small windows. He can down block, reach block, and use his power to just physically move guys. A high football IQ player as well, Jabari has strong knowledge of how to set up &amp; call out blocks. A good frame, thick built LB who can move, he had a real strong showing at the showcase. It was no surprise that he was a former DB who has now grown into a LB when I saw him move through agility work. With quick, twitchy hips and the ability to change direction and burst out, Charles is an athletic LB perfect for todays game. He is capable of dropping into coverage and covering lots of field with his speed. He also can re-direct well and explode to the ball, getting downhill and laying a strike on the ball carrier. Charles uses his quickness and athleticism to slip past blockers and get through the mess to find the ball. An effective blitzer up the middle, he plays fast and flies around the field. He has quick feet, oily hips, is able to stick his foot in the ground and make sharp explosive cuts. Brayden showed the ability to stem his routes, drop his weight and decelerate/change speeds quickly. He gets the DB on their heels, as well as showing the ability to speed past them. A strong handed WR, Brayden goes and gets the ball and snatches it out of the air. He tracks the ball well and can make a tough catch. Capable of playing outside or in the slot, Brayden is a do it all receiver who can run a full route tree, and be an impact player in multiple ways. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
