The left-hander has great size and strength after putting on an estimated 20 pounds of muscle in the off season, and really tested very well showcasing his speed, quickness, power and explosiveness. In drills and one on ones he really spun the ball well making all his throws look easy with good velocity, placement and accuracy for his receivers on short, intermediate and deep throws. The true dual threat was clearly the MVP choice.

[player_tooltip player_id='1260478' first='Braiden' last='Stevens'], Platte County 2026
-5'9" 160
- 21 mph 10 yard fly - 4.26 shuttle - 7.06 L-Cone - 32.3" vertical jump
The speedy big play receiver actually went to elementary school with Temple before his family moved. Stevens is a blur running his routes downfield and making his cuts look so quick and effortless using his quick twitch athleticism. He also displayed glue like hands making every grab he was targeted with that I saw and the ability to get up and catch balls at their highest point or digging them low to keep them off the turf laying out for the ball. His speed, quickness and change of direction body control showed during testing.

Preston Hatfield, Lee's Summit 2026
- 5'9" 155
- 20.8 mph 10 yard fly - 4.28 shuttle - 33.6" vertical jump - 9'8" broad jump
A similar type of athlete and receiver was the talented Hatfield who shared testing results and skills very close to Stevens, which makes sense as to why they were named co-MVPs. Preston is fast and elusive with impressive route running ability and gets good separation from defensive backs possessing good burst. He has good ball skills and is versatile not only catching passes but running with the ball in open space.
