He flashes speed and explosiveness as a wide receiver. Moore often turns short catches into big gains. Moore usually gets open and is dangerous after the catch. His route-running could be crisper as he sometimes tends to round off his breaks. On defense, Moore shows sharp instincts and strong ball skills at safety. His experience as a receiver helps him read routes and jump passing lanes (multiple interceptions in his highlights). However, not much in his highlights show how he defends the run so that part of his game remains a question. At 5'10" and 158 pounds, he'll need to add size and strength to compete at the next level. His best position for the next level will be on defense.

Mason Lowman might be smaller than most at 5'5", but he's a spark plug on the field. He's the player who makes things happen whenever he touches the ball. Lowman brings playmaking ability, whether returning kicks, catching passes, or running the ball. His coaches know how to use him, often getting him the ball in space where his speed and quickness can take over. Despite his size, he gets up to full speed in a flash and is tough to bring down. Most of his highlights show him running vertical routes, so it's tough to say how polished he is as a route runner. That said, his speed and ability in the return game give him a real shot at contributing at the next level (most likely from the slot). Lowman is a fun player and a real weapon for his high school team.

Nybree Davis might be a bit light for an edge rusher, but he more than makes up for it with effort, speed, and skill. He's constantly going up against bigger linemen, yet he finds ways to win with a quick first step and a solid mix of pass-rush moves. There's one play in his highlights where he executes a spin move that jumps off the screen. Davis plays with a nonstop motor and has excellent range. His highlights show him chasing down plays from sideline to sideline in multiple clips. While he holds his ground in the run game, adding strength would help him consistently shed blocks. No film shows him in coverage, so it's hard to say if he could play linebacker. Still, his ability to turn the corner and maintain speed makes him a great fit as a 3-4 edge rusher. It's not the biggest, but the talent and effort are there.

[player_tooltip player_id='1314876' first='Jacobi' last='Rodgers'] is a smart safety with impressive range and ball skills. His highlights open with a textbook play in quarters coverage—he stays deeper than the deepest, tracks a deep ball 40 yards downfield, and returns the interception for over 30 yards. On another pick, he reads the quarterback's eyes while covering a slot receiver on a post route, then breaks in front of the pass for a clean interception. His third pick shows accurate centerfield instincts, such as staying patient and under control before jumping a post route. Rodgers also stands out in red zone coverage, where his smooth footwork and ability to remain balanced out of his backpedal allow him to blanket receivers in off-man situations. He's a reliable tackler and shows a quick closing burst, which helps him in coverage and support. However, at 6'0" and 170 pounds, he'll need to bulk up to handle bigger, more physical players at the college level. Still, even when matched against tight ends, he competes well and shows no fear. I'm impressed with Rodgers, and I think he's a high-upside safety prospect.

Jacque [player_tooltip player_id='1256586' first='Wilson' last=''] is a tough, instinctive linebacker who plays with a ton of energy. His first clip shows him blocking a punt, proving he's a special-teams asset. The second play is even better. [player_tooltip player_id='1256586' first='Wilson' last=''] is in zone coverage, sees the quarterback take off, and closes in fast for a big hit behind the line. [player_tooltip player_id='1256586' first='Wilson' last='']'s burst and closing speed stand out in his highlights. He flies off the edge for sacks and even tracks down a slot receiver to limit the gain. In run defense, he tackles well and stays under control. [player_tooltip player_id='1256586' first='Wilson' last=''] also shows good lateral quickness and doesn't waste steps while using his pursuit angles. At 5'11" and 200 pounds, he may need to bulk up a bit to take on college linemen. [player_tooltip player_id='1256586' first='Wilson' last='']'s instincts, effort, and versatility make him a strong prospect.

Evaluating prospects from The First State: 3A standouts – Pt. 1

Evaluating prospects from The First State: 2A standouts – Pt. 1

Evaluating prospects from The First State: 1A standouts – Pt. 1

Evaluating prospects from The First State: 3A standouts – Pt. 2

Evaluating prospects from The First State: 3A standouts – Pt. 2
