As we move closer to the heat of summer, the 2025 high school football offseason is in full swing. With that in mind, we have begun a new round of rankings updates. The most recent class to be updated is the incoming junior class of 2027. After officially releasing these rankings updates, I will now be breaking them down by position. With the quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers already being covered, here are our top tight ends in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200686' first='Seneca' last='Driver'] continued to establish himself as the top overall player in his class with a strong sophomore season. Driver played a key role in the Boyle County passing game this past season, catching 25 passes for 353 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games. Seneca has shown the ability to line up in both the slot and as a traditional tight end, where he is able to use his speed to serve as a vertical threat down the seam. When the ball is thrown his way, he displays a high catch radius, showing the ability to catch the ball at its highest point, regardless of what type of coverage is around him. He also made an impact on defense as a sophomore, finishing the year with 36 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks. Seneca currently holds a long list of Power 4 offers and I expect that list to continue to grow as he is a very talented tight end prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200658' first='Maddox' last='Hager'] is a player who has been high on our radar for a while now. As a sophomore at Boyle County, Hager showed the versatility to play all over the offense as a tight end, in the slot, and as an H-Back. He played a key role in the passing game, catching seven passes for 144 yards and a touchdown in 14 games. Hager has impressive speed which he uses to pose as a threat in the deep passing game and to pick up yards after the catch. He is also a very reliable blocker, showing the ability to drive his man out of the picture with ease to create a running lane for the ball carrier. Hager currently holds multiple Power 4/Division I offers and I expect a lot of eyes to be on him after transferring to GRC for his junior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1314810' first='Max' last='Hunt'] is another tight end who has been high on our radar for a while now. He continued to impress as a sophomore, mainly thriving on the outside in the passing game. Hunt runs routes like a receiver and has shown very impressive hands. He has also shown the ability to get up the field quickly to pick up yards after the catch. Hunt finished his sophomore year as his team's leading receiver with 20 receptions for 216 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games. He also made an impact on defense, finishing the year with 33 tackles, three tackles for loss, and three sacks. Hunt currently holds an offer from Kentucky and I expect more to come his way over the next couple seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610707' first='Brice' last='LaFevers'] is a tight end who has stood out over the past couple seasons. He is a very impressive blocker, showing the ability to drive his man off the line of scrimmage with ease. Brice finishes his blocks with a ton of physicality, resulting in frequent pancake blocks. He has also proven to be reliable in the passing game, showing the ability to reel in passes and pick up extra yards after the catch. LaFevers finished his sophomore year with 16 catches for 200 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games. He also played a key role on defense, finishing this past season with 38 tackles, five tackles for loss. Brice doesn't currently hold any offers but he should be a player to keep an eye on heading into his junior year.

To wrap up our top five tight ends in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1200566' first='Christian' last='Martinez']. Martinez spends a lot of time lined up in the slot where he is a skilled route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. He also has very reliable hands when making catches in traffic and has shown the speed to pose as a vertical threat down the seam. Christian finished his sophomore season with 16 receptions for 148 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games. He is also a very reliable blocker, showing the ability to pick up blocks in the open field and drive his man out of the picture with ease. Martinez should be a player to keep an eye on over the next two seasons.
