This year's Tennessee Future Stars had four different tryout areas around the state, all in an effort to be selected for the prestigious football team. When the smoke settled, there were only two (2) 8th grade (class of 2029) Quarterbacks selected for the annual border war against Kentucky. This year's 2029 group will attempt to stop the recent Kentucky winning street, as the boys in blue have won the previous three years on the eighth-grade level. Without a further adieu, here are the two (2) prospects selected.

As I said in the Kentucky Future Stars 8th Grade Linebacker article, I steadfastly believe that genetics are imperative to when projecting a prospect's potential. In the case of Hayden Cullen, his father Aaron (Tennessee & 4-year NFL career), oldest brother Chase (Arkansas, ECU & Illinois) and middle brother (currently at Colorado) were all tremendous Running Backs. The only Quarterback of the family, Cullen Hayden was selected to his second-straight Tennessee Future Stars team this year. Last year he served as QB2 for Tennessee and did a pretty good job behind Center. This year he appears to be several inches taller and his throwing motion looks noticeably crisper than last year at this time, as well. I'm excited to see what the Shelby County native will do in June.

After making the Tennessee Future Stars in 2023 as a sixth-grader, White was not listed on the prestigious roster last year. The multi-sport athlete (basketball) had his eighth-grade season ended prematurely by an injury, but he was lighting the world on the fire through the first three games of the 2024-2025 regular season. Our scouts were at the TN Future Stars tryout and raved about White's performance, specifically the long ball. He was named a top performer at the tryout--the lone QB standout. White's older brother, J.C. White, will be a Senior this upcoming season and has the potential for a breakout season. Both of the White brothers could be in an excellent position for big 2025-2026 regular seasons.
