This year's Kentucky Future Stars saw over 400 athletes show up in four different areas around the state, in an effort to be selected for the #Brotherhood of the program. When the smoke settled, there were only two 7th grade (class of 2030) Quarterbacks selected to the prestigious team. The seventh-grade game against Tennessee has been split over the last four years, which each side of the border war winning two games. This year's KY group will aim to break the recent stalemate, Without a further adieu, here are the two prospects selected.

When looking at the top 2030 Quarterbacks around the Blue Grass state, I'm fairly certain that the conversation would start and stop with [player_tooltip player_id='1306237' first='Kal' last='Ridner'] at, or near, the very top of the list. At last year's Future Stars Game, as a sixth-grader, Ridner got the start at QB but very little else went his way in the Kentucky's lone loss against their Tennessee counterparts. Between countless drops and broken plays, Ridner and the offense just couldn't get it going. Instead of throwing a fit, Ridner got directly back to work and his 2024 seventh-grade season was proof of it. Ridner now lists himself at 6-foot-2, which is up from the 5-foot-11 he was listed at last year; He also had a masterful season, as he led the Northern Pulaski Maroons to a KYMSFA 7th Grade State Championship. Until I see otherwise, he has to be the top 2030 QB in the state.

Some new blood joining this 2030 class on the 7th Grade Kentucky Future Stars team, [player_tooltip player_id='1278296' first='Brody' last='Shannon'] was selected for the squad after a very strong season with the Pudcah Blue Tornado. Shannon helped guide the team to a pair of playoff wins, before bowing out in the Region 1 Championship game to eventual semi-finalist Bowling Green. Shannon has a very strong arm and should be able to put his strong arm on display with a talented group of Wide Receivers at his disposal.
