The Box Showcase: Offensive Dawgs

<p>Several offensive weapons made their mark at The Box Showcase in Houston last weekend, proving they're names to know heading into the fall. From quarterbacks to tight ends and running backs, these prospects showed playmaking ability, consistency, and next-level tools.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">At 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, Barber was one of the most physically dominant players in attendance. He used his strength at the line of scrimmage to overpower defensive backs and create separation. Barber displayed quick feet, strong hands, and proved to be a reliable red zone target. Also a standout defensive lineman on film, he competed with an edge throughout the day. He ran clean routes, extended plays with his large catch radius, and flashed strong hands. He has excellent mechanics, throws with touch, and made multiple accurate throws into tight windows. With a stout 5-foot-11, 200-pound frame, he ran with great balance, showed excellent footwork, and proved he could change direction without losing speed. He's a natural pass catcher out of the backfield and looked smooth throughout the day. Johnson is a prospect in the 2027 class to watch closely this fall.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Warren is a young prospect with a big arm and high ceiling. He showcased the ability to push the ball outside the numbers, made smart reads, and threw with confidence. As he continues to develop, Warren looks like one of the top 2028 quarterbacks to track in Texas. He was dynamic in 1-on-1 drills, showing crisp route running, soft hands, and burst out of his breaks. As a runner, he's quick, shifty, and elusive in space. Spann's ability to contribute in both the run and pass game made him one of the most well-rounded backs in attendance. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound dual-threat showed elite arm strength, polished mechanics, and delivered dimes at all levels of the field. His fall tape showed he can throw on the move, attack deep zones, and make plays with his legs. Last fall, he threw for 2,517 yards and 23 touchdowns while rushing for 500 yards and five more scores. A First-Team All-District selection, Mendenhall holds offers from Midwestern State, Lamar, and East Central Oklahoma. At 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, he's a smooth route runner with strong hands and a large catch radius. A refined route runner with a quick first step, he routinely made difficult catches in traffic and excelled in contested situations. At 6-foot, 175 pounds, he's a reliable target who helped lead Bridgeland on a playoff run last season.
