Scout's Notebook: O-Line from PRZ NXT MS Combine, Part 1

My event coverage from April 5ths Prep Redzone Next Middle School Combine in Jackson, New Jersey continues with a position-by-position breakdown of each prospect that I was able to record notes on. This bend allows him to, off the snap of the ball, immediately win the battle for the ever-important leverage. As Johnson prepares for ball at the next level, he ought to focus on firing out and not up.... Another prospect who played with leverage well was [player_tooltip player_id='1571068' first='Adrian' last='Tirado']. Tirado had a very low base and elite talent for his age. The combination of both allowed him to stonewall bull rushes and play below the pads of his matchup. All afternoon long Tirado was a hard out to be had.   One of two prospects who I had as offensive linemen on the roster were [player_tooltip player_id='1638673' first='Giovanni' last='Duva'] and Alexanader Nieves - both of whom I appear to have caught taking defensive reps... [player_tooltip player_id='1638673' first='Giovanni' last='Duva'] showed at least one outstanding rep when rushing the passer on Saturday. I saw Duva hit a quick rep and then subsequently dip his shoulder as he grabbed grass to blow past his matchup. He also stayed low throughout the process of that rep... For [player_tooltip player_id='1647113' first='Alexander' last='Nieves'], he hit a patented automatic I actually teach my prospects: when at nose during a clear passing down, if you are shaded on the center's snap hand, swim it.
