SOUTH DAKOTA-- We move into the top 60s in South Dakota with our rankings countdown, as we are starting to really get impressed with the athleticism, upside and more of this grouping ranked 69 to 65.

Brechen is a prospect out of Tri-Valley that shows off his suddeness quickly as a route-runner and also shows off intriguing athletic movement in short spaces. I also was impressed with the quality of his hands getting after balls out of reach as you can gauge the athletcism Brechen has at his disposal out of this 2027 class. As a linebacker, he shows off a quick presence with his instincts and has the flexibility to get low on contact when he comes downhill to the ball. He also shows off versatility with his tackling ability, which is a contribution to his football IQ which points to me that Brechen has the potential to play on Saturdays.

[player_tooltip player_id='1293062' first='Wesley' last='Willet'], OL, Rapid City Stevens

Wesley is an interior offensive line prospect that is raw at the moment, but with his 6'1 290 pound frame there is some promise to what you can see on tape. For his size, I was impressed with how quick his first step was and the speed too aligned with how quick he got his hands on someone. He shows off one that can multi-engage with his intriguing agility he shows off in his footwork. One that is under the radar out of Rapid City Stevens.

[player_tooltip player_id='1625451' first='Evan' last='Haak'], OL, Alcester-Hudson Twitter

Talk about a young man with this grouping that I like as a riser by next update, as I came away impressed with another interior offensive linemen in [player_tooltip player_id='1625451' first='Evan' last='Haak'] out of Alcester-Hudson. One of the most intriguing pull-blockers we have seen thus far in our rankings countdown, as Evan gets out of his stance quickly and gains speed quickly once he gets out of the first level as a 6'2 215 pounder for the Cubs. This kid is also a well-versed angle blocker for his age, and is surely an IOL that blocks until that whistle blows which is shown consistently on tape. I surely believe Evan is one of the brighest prospects out of Alcester-Hudson that has a next-level future that just hit a growth spurt from last update.

Man, it does not take much time to notice what an athlete Mason is when you get your first look of his sophomore tape, as one that dominated for the Trojans on special teams. The four-sport athlete out of Parkston, is super elusive with his cuts in the return game and you can grade his explosive by his long jump, as a constant top five performer on the track with several jumps over 20 feet in track and field. One of the most explosive return-man we have uncovered thus far in this 2027 class, as even at running back this young man has an elite games-speed he plays with from start to finish. Mason is one that wastes no time getting to the edge and I'll repeat it, he is another one on this list I love the shot he has of playing at the next-level due to his athletic traits he shows on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='1622003' first='Nolyn' last='Spielman'], DL, Lennox Twitter

Nolyn is a defensive linemen that moved over from linebacker in the 2024 season, and shows off some intriguing traits on tape that translate to the next-level. He impresses me with his pursuit angles to the ball, as one that will use his hands to his advantage to get off blocks when he needs to, but can also use his solid athletic movement in his 6'1 size to get around the edge of the offensive linemen. I can tell Nolyn is a defensive end that has a high upside being newer at the position, but still has his best football ahead of him in the coming years.
