Named as one of the MVPs of the showcase, I don't think anyone came even close to how spectacular [player_tooltip player_id='1255132' first='Jay' last='Sanders'] played on Sunday. Coming off knee surgery from last season, Sanders posted impressive testing times, including a 4.65 40 yard time, a 4.4 shuttle, and a 9'1" broad jump. Sanders is quick off the release and I was surprised with just how aggressive he was with his footwork on his cuts, and it seems that knee isn't affecting his play. Sanders had several highlight-reel catches, including an effortless one-handed reception in front of the scouts. I'm really excited to see how Sanders rebounds in his senior year, and he could easily contend to be one of the most explosive receivers in the state in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255132' first='Jay' last='Sanders'] wasn't the only WR from Minneapolis North making headlines on Sunday, as his teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1580268' first='Anthony' last='Deline'] was just as impressive throughout the showcase. Deline has a bit of length to him, and he ended up posting a flat 9' broad jump with that length. Deline's footwork and change of direction on his routes were sharp, and like Sanders, he dominated the 1-on-1 portion of the event, doing a particularly great job at hitting the top of his routes. With Deline and Sanders in the starting lineup, Minneapolis North could once again have a really scary passing game for opponents to go against.

[player_tooltip player_id='1360530' first='Akeed' last='Ali'] made plenty of noise with his testing drills. Posting a 4.6 40 yard time, a 4.38 shuttle, and a stunning 9'9" broad jump, Ali was one of the best test performers in the entire showcase. This skillset translated well onto the field, as he proved to be quite a threat down the field, having a lot of success during the 1-on-1 drills with deep posts and vert routes. Ali did a great job bursting off the snap quickly, getting depth on his routes, and he caught nearly every pass that was thrown his way. After dominating on East Ridge's JV team last season, Ali is making a strong case to find a role in the starting lineup for their varsity offense in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1558060' first='Jerome' last='Gregory'] wasn't the most flashy athlete on Sunday, but he was one of the most reliable pass-catchers that I watched throughout the drills. Gregory played a lot better than what his numbers suggested, showing a good amount of burst and top-end speed on his routes, as well as solid cuts and breaks on his routes. Gregory caught nearly every pass that went his way, and his consistency in his production caught the eyes of most of the coaches at the event. Gregory will be an intriguing name to follow, and his hard-work and commitment toward getting better certainly warrants a look at him next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1522534' first='Colten' last='Gunderson'] was selected as a MVP among the TE position on Sunday, and he was very difficult for DBs to go against during the event. Gunderson has a solid amount of athleticism as a TE, posting a flat 5-second 40 yard time and a 4.5 second shuttle. Gunderson has an impressive amount of agility for his size, proving to be a nimble route runner that could stretch the field. Gunderson also had some of the best hands during the event, with practically every pass going his way being caught. Gunderson will be interesting to watch this season, and he has the potential to develop more as a go-to target for Prior Lake's offense in 2025.

Despite his size, [player_tooltip player_id='1246911' first='Jaxon' last='Brown'] was one of the most electric athletes during the showcase. Brown's numbers were impressive, posting a 4.59 40 yard time, a 4.02 shuttle, and a 9'3" broad jump. Brown plays well beyond his size, and he has an impressive amount of range when it comes to going for the ball. Brown's speed and twitch on his breaks allowed him to win on many of his reps on Sunday. Brown has all the traits to fit the mold of an all-purpose playmaker, and he could have a huge role for Wayzata's offense in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1657478' first='James' last='Crawford'] is another smaller receiver who plays well beyond his size. Crawford was one of the most effective pass-catchers on the field on Sunday. Crawford flashed his agility, with a variety of cuts, double moves, and overall sharp change of direction. Crawford proved very capable as a vertical threat, doing a great job at extending for the ball and catching through contact. Crawford should not be overlooked, as he is very capable pass-catcher who could make a big impact on the field this season.
