Prep Redzone's NYNJ Next Combine featured so much receiving talent that I had to break it down into two parts. This first installment is dedicated to the standout wide receivers from the 2029 class—a group loaded with skill, explosiveness, and playmaking ability. Many of these names are ones you'll be hearing a lot more of in the near future.

Top Performers

Noah ended the day with an MVP under his belt, solidifying his status as one of the top receivers at the combine. A natural sprinter, he exploded out of the gate, using his burst to get separation right from the snap. Noah's footwork and quick hips were exceptional, allowing him to get defenders off balance and easily shift them in the opposite direction. In addition to his speed and agility, Noah made several jaw-dropping catches in traffic, demonstrating his ability to track the ball and finish through contact. His combination of explosiveness, route-running precision, and playmaking ability make him a receiver to watch as he continues to develop.

Karter was a close second for MVP of the event, further proving he's another talented and promising prospect in the making. Fast off the line with quick footwork, he demonstrated impressive change-of-direction abilities that kept defenders on their heels. His leaping ability is a standout feature, as he can high-point the ball and snatch it out of the air with ease. Karter burned some of the best DBs at the combine, making several acrobatic catches that showcased his ability to track and finish in tough situations. With his skill set and athleticism, he's definitely a name to keep an eye on moving forward.

Maximus came into the day with high expectations and certainly lived up to the hype. With a strong foundation and powerful legs, he was reactive and quick to adjust to the ball, consistently showing his strength in contested situations. Maximus came down with the ball multiple times in traffic, demonstrating his ability to track and secure catches in tight coverage.

Maximus came into the day with high expectations and certainly lived up to the hype. One of the most impressive moments of the day came when he ripped the ball away from a defender, showing his ability to fight for contested catches. Cruz has a great break on his routes, using his strong frame and hands to create separation and secure the ball. With his combination of size, speed, and physicality, he has a promising future ahead at Bergen Catholic.

Malachi has promising size and athleticism, making him a deep ball and pylon target that can outcompete most defenders for the catch. His ability to position himself and fight for the ball in contested situations stands out, and he'll be a major threat in red zone opportunities. If he continues to grow and develop, there may be no stopping him as he matures into one of the top playmakers in his class.

Louis is built differently, with a tall presence on the field that made him stand out among the other receivers at the Next Combine. A true jump ball specialist, he has the ability to outmuscle defenders and make plays in the air. Despite his impressive frame, it looks like he still has room to grow, which makes his future even more exciting. As a speedster with rangy arms, Louis can reel in passes from afar, making him a constant deep threat and a receiver to watch in the years to come.

Watchlist

[player_tooltip player_id='1541004' first='Justin' last='Roberts'] (60)

Justin has the potential to be a deadly slot receiver, showcasing exceptional footwork at the line that allows him to either stun defenders or quickly get by them. His ability to create separation with quick, precise movements makes him a serious threat in the middle of the field. As he heads to Donovan Catholic in the fall, it will be exciting to see how he develops and makes an impact at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1652324' first='Bryce' last='Coll'] 2029 WR

Bryce made phenomenal catches in traffic at the combine, showing excellent concentration as he looked the ball in and used strong hands to secure it. His ability to make tough catches away from his body with outreached hands was impressive, demonstrating his comfort and confidence in high-pressure situations. With his strong grip and reliable hands, Bryce is a receiver who can handle any contested catch thrown his way.

Jasaan Farrar 2029 WR

Jaseen has impressive linear speed, getting down the field quickly and effortlessly pulling away from defenders. He tracks the ball exceptionally well, showing great focus and ability to adjust mid-air. In addition to his speed, he also displayed explosive capabilities, making him a dynamic threat on every play. I'm excited to see how he continues to develop and what he'll do next as he refines his game.
