North Cobb Christian has emerged as one of the better private schools in the Metro ATL area. While they have some big shoes to fill this fall, there are a handful of guys who will help them now, and some who will help them even more in the future. Here are my observations from a scouting perspective.

As it stands today, '27 DB Dylan Rainey (5'10 170) is the most noteworthy prospect on the North Cobb Christian squad. Possesses a cut, lean, athletic frame. Impressive foot speed, short area burst, and snappy COD. Projects long-term as a nickel. He takes pride in his tackling and block shedding, working hard to free himself. Several violent contact reps on tape. Complex athletic background including lacrosse and wrestling. His coaches rave about the player, person, and say he has taken a major step forward over the last year. I would grade him out as a D1 nickel prospect.

'28 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1895428' first='Jayden' last='McCullough'] (6'1 170) is set to stand in and take over QB duties this fall for North Cobb Christian. He certainly looks the part. Long, athletic frame with plenty of time and room to pack on weight. As of now, is more of a "good athlete" playing QB. However, he is a natural thrower of the football who can fit the ball into tight windows when everything clicks. His marksmanship will come along as he gets more reps, but he is worth tracking as he grows into his frame.

'28 OL Brayden Gutierrez (6'3 250) was on my radar coming into the event. Looks the part from a frame perspective and still has the bulk of his physical maturity left in the tank. Given his age and frame, he is one of those players who I'd come back to see 8-12 months from now, and he'd look like a completely different person. He is light on his feet and fast for his size, typical in big guys who double as basketball athletes. He plays mean as well.

'26 NT Michael Patterson is a gigantic prospect (6'4 290) and the definition of a plugger in the middle of the defense. He could not be moved at practice, and I bet that remains consistent headed into the fall. The flashes are great, now, it's just about embracing the physicality of the game and becoming more consistent. If I were at a small school and got to see him up close, I'd be excited about the idea of taking a chance on him and letting him develop.

My biggest takeaway: I am really intrigued by 2029 RB Haiden Gibson (6'0 190). As an eighth grader, he is already one of the biggest players on the team, and he might not even realize yet just how good he can be. He is built the way an RB should be built. Fairly tall, but also stout, and has some mass. Even when running upright and not actively seeking contact, he just runs straight through defenders and bounces off of traffic. I have only seen a handful of 8th-grade RBs that look like upperclassmen, and Gipson is exactly that. His recruitment is just getting started, and I'll be checking in frequently about him.
