<p>The good news for Lake Placid High's football team in 2024 is that head coach <strong>Jay Del Castillo</strong> and the Dragons advanced to the post season. The not-so-great headlines that 2A state champion Cocoa was the opening round opponent.</p>

<p>What it's been like for this program since Del Castillo took over is teaching and getting better each season.</p>

<p>They have worked hard in the off-season, and it has paid off as they finished in a three-way tie in District 7-2A, but that is not what this team wants.</p>

<p>Getting to the state playoffs and finishing 2-1 in the district is okay for some, but the ultimate goal for this team is to have a winning season and get by that first game in the post season.</p>

<p>This is a program that is finally understands that what you put in during the summer will reflect on how you finish in November.</p>
