CJ Toney is one of the most versatile offensive weapons in Houston's 2026 class. Though listed at 5'9", he plays much bigger thanks to his explosive play style. Toney excels both as a wide receiver and in an H-back role. On film, he shows an elite understanding of spacing, especially against zone coverage. He consistently finds soft spots in the defense and works back to the his quarterback. His route-running is crisp, and he doesn't waste steps — he gets in and out of his breaks cleanly, with little to no false movement. After the catch, he flips into score mode instantly.
