Five 2027 Western Kansas 8-Man Prospects To Watch

In this write-up I'll be showcasing five more 8-Man prospects from the western half of the state. As we enter summer, we need to be aware of kids that normally may go unnoticed to the masses due to their smaller community locations. I hope by promoting these kids they will get on college football programs radars for the coming years.   These five 2027 prospects hail from such leagues as the Southern Plains-Iroquois, the Northern Plains, the Western Kansas Liberty and two from the Mid-Continent.   Once again profiles for each of these athletes have been created on Prep Redzone and can be claimed by using the following link.   <a href="https://prepredzone.com/prospects-index/#claim-profile-anchor">https://prepredzone.com/prospects-index/#claim-profile-anchor</a>    The 6-foot-0, 220-pound Presley looks to take the next step in helping the Ringnecks reach the top of the 8-Man I ranks this coming season. He and 2028 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1455235' first='Archer' last='Amrein'] look to lead a young talented Hill City squad who finished with a 7-4 record and a playoff loss to South Central this past fall.   Presley is known primarily as a defender and he racked up 40 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four tackles for loss and one fumble recovery from his defensive end position.   He is a stout and powerful defender who is currently ranked No. 287 overall in the 2027 state rankings. Definitely keep an eye on him this coming season.     The 6-foot-1, 190-pound wide receiver and defensive back is one of the top receiving threats in all of 8-Man football.   Bell hauled in 52 receptions for 815 yards and 10 total touchdowns this past season. He also rushed for 138 yards for the Leopards but also brought back two kick-off returns for touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball, he chipped in 65 tackles, two interceptions, and forced two fumbles from his secondary spot.   Lincoln is stacked talented wise and Coach Hamel and crew look to build upon a 6-3 record that saw them fall to Little River in the playoffs. He was a honorable mention All-State 8-Man I performer as a receiver this past fall. He also comes in ranked No. 126 in our 2027 state rankings.     The second team All Mid-Continent league performer was one of the better sophomore running backs in all of the 8-Man ranks this past fall. Standing at 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, the Golden Eagle helped his team to a 4-5 record and a playoff loss to league rival Hill City this past fall.   Conness is a very good athlete and this past season he had 627 yards rushing on 103 carries and 10 touchdowns on the ground. He also pitched in another score through the air. As a linebacker, he had 34 tackles in nine games and recovered one fumble.   He is ranked No. 253 in our state rankings but look for him to make a jump up the rankings as the season unfolds.     The 6-foot-0, 170-pound two-way athlete is a very intriguing prospects due to this athletic ability and playmaking abilities.   This past fall he collected 71 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery for the Longhorns. He also accumulated over 1,000 yards of total offense. He was a jack of all trades on offense where he had 601 yards passing, 415 yards rushing and even hauled in 59 yards receiving. He had 19 total touchdowns on the season.   He helped lead his team to an 8-3 record before eventually falling to Dighton in the playoffs.   Reece was also an All-League performer in basketball but definitely keep an eye on him this coming fall on the gridiron. When it comes to the 2027 rankings, he came in at No. 164 in the state overall.     Logan-Palco enjoyed a very good past fall where they finished the season 8-2 but eventually fell to Hutchinson Central Christian in the state playoffs. He big reason for the success for the Trojans was the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Ashmore.   He rushed for 251 yards on 49 carries and five touchdowns but also caught 16 balls for 319 yards receiving and an additional five scores. On the defensive side of the ball is where he made most of his damage. He had 62 tackles (18 solo and 44 assisted), five tackles for loss and one interception.    Keep these small school ballers in mind this coming fall and I look forward in sharing their contributions and accolades as the years go on.
