Regarding the offseason, we're at a pretty good point on the timeline. Playoff basketball and hockey, NFL Draft upon us (Skol Vikes), and we are creeping up on the electric and chaotic month of June, the pinnacle of the offseason camp circuit, where offers fly out left and right like a grenade filled with scholarship dollars. At PrepRedzoneMN, we're gearing up for 2025 preseason coverage, but with a bit of a lull late into the spring, we're starting to see some juniors come off the board and hop on an early scholarship commitment spot with D1 suitors across the region, and recruiting for the 2026 class is nearing its peak in terms of attention. With that in mind, PRzMN wanted to check in with some of the state's most popular D1 prospects, which no doubt meant a stop at the old Classic Lake traditional powerhouse Edina, home to monster defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='924336' first='Sawyer' last='Jezierski']. Currently holding six D1 offers under his growing belt, Jezierski made some time to talk recruiting, what it felt like to receive that first D1 offer, who he is hearing from the most, official visits, and more. Go Hornets!

As with many Minnesotans, the Mighty Missouri Valley schools are in the thick of his recruitment, with South Dakota putting money behind his talent and offering the Edina product first back in early March. Things have moved quickly ever since, and Jezierski added UNI, NDSU, Washington State - whose staff transitioned over from South Dakota State - Army, and the new staff at SDSU. Jezierski told to PRzMN that "the Missouri Valley schools that have offered me so far have been awesome throughout the process. I really respect how genuine and passionate the coaching staffs are—especially the defensive line coaches. They've taken the time to build relationships with me, and that means a lot. Each campus I've been to has a strong football culture, great facilities, and an environment that feels like it pushes players to be their best." He noted that the all-important first offer was particularly special, telling us that "getting that first D1 offer was an amazing experience—something I'll never forget. It really played a huge role in starting my recruitment. It gave me confidence and confirmed that all the work I've put in is paying off." Shoutout to the Yotes for pulling the trigger early.

When it comes to who the 6'3, 265 lber. - who shows rare and valuable pass-rushing juice from the interior, as well as obvious size that shows up in both padded and unpadded competitive settings, Jezierski said, "I've been hearing the most from schools in the Dakotas, Washington State, and a few others. I usually talk directly with defensive line coaches. They've told me they like my motor, how physical I play, and my ability to disrupt the line of scrimmage. A lot of them mention my quick get-off and how I use my hands effectively." With strong junior tape and some regional heavyweight offers already under his belt, Jezierski has also visited P4s such as Kansas State, Iowa, and Iowa State, all in the past month on unofficals, setting up what could be a prolific summer camp szn for the defensive tackle. The 265-pound junior, who also plays basketball and who camped with the Gophers last summer, told PRzMN that, "I haven't fully planned out my camp schedule yet for the summer, but I'm working with my coaches and family to figure out which ones make the most sense. I'm also looking at lining up a few official visits this spring, depending on how things shake out."

Representing a premium position on the recruiting trail with rare, top-tier size and quickness on the interior, Jezierski is on a short list of Minnesota 2026s in legit contention to earn that coveted first P4 offer this summer. With so many measurables in his favor, it's also important to note that Jezierski has intangibles worth considering as well. Jezierski also takes pride in his leadership. He told PRzMN, " I take pride in setting the tone in practice and in games—not just with energy, but also by holding myself and others accountable. I care about winning and making everyone around me better, and that's something that doesn't always show up in highlights." With a ton of starpower on Edina's roster rolling into the 2025 season, some of the Hornets have big summers ahead of them, and if you follower of the #Gophers, #EMAW, #Cyclones, I'd keep an eye on this defensive tackle going into camp szn. Go Hornets!
