The Carolinas Coaches Combines at York might have been the smallest of the four in-state sites.

The performances from the 2026s, though, didn't disappoint.

In addition to recording the three fastest miles per hour speeds in any of the first three combines, the Catapult 1 GPS vests each of the players were wearing Saturday at York also showed off plenty of other meaningful metrics.

Jayden Boyd WR, Fairfield Central (pictured)

In addition to his blazing-fast speeds, it's important to note that Boyd competed in a track meet the day before. That tells us that his 22.97 mph likely wasn't his best foot forward. That's a scary thought for those hoping to contain him in 2025. He's already got two Power 4s sniffing around, and we think his chances of reaching the next level just increased tenfold, especially since his work load showed a player capable of hustling at a high rate.

Cormac Petri LB, Indian Land

Petri made his first and only appearance in the Carolinas Coaches Combines count. He hit the sixth fastest miles per hour speed in the morning session when he reached 21.77. The 6-foot-2, 193-pound linebacker also got 16 reps on the bench, flashed some quick-twitch with his 4.12-second pro shuttle (a combine best) and recorded a vertical north of 31 inches. He'll make the Indian defense that much more effective as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='1639669' first='Ashten' last='Wilson'] RB, Central

Speaking of work load, no player did more in that regard than Wilson. His overall sprint distance (total movement north of about 12.5 miles per hour) was 17.8 percent of his overall movement. It's a great measuring stick for how much effort players are putting out there. Wilson was one of the smaller players at the combine at 5-foot-6.5 and 145 pounds, but it's impossible to overlook his 38 power plays, the top number from the day, morning and afternoon sessions included.

Dreshawn Mills and Micah Wallace RBs, Union County

The pair of Yellow Jacket tailbacks got limited opportunities to carry the ball last year, combining for just 105 between the two of them while playing behind a senior. Neither of them wasted their appearances at York. Mills (5-foot-8, 180 pounds) had a sprint distance of 16.1 percent, while Wallace hit 14.8 percent. Mills also reached 21.50 miles per hour; Wallace wasn't far behind at 21.12 miles per hour.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267211' first='Gray' last='Patterson'] LB, Fort Mill

Just about every metric Patterson put up Saturday was evidence of how much he's grown physically since he appeared at the same combine a year ago. Miles per hour (20.72 to 23.00), sprint distance (214.07 to 360.11), max acceleration (6.47 to 7.22) all improved significantly, on top of his combine stats. What also increased was his size. Clearly, the 6-foot-2, 206-pound linebacker means business in his final year of high school football.
