The Prep Redzone 7v7 Circuit made their second stop through Oklahoma this weekend in Broken Arrow and it was another strong weekend of 7v7 football. Five champions were crowned on Sunday and in a first for our Oklahoma tourneys, five different programs took home titles. In 10U, CHJ Elite beat Sooner 7 in the championship on Sunday morning in a very competitive game from start to finish. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at some of the top standouts from the 10U division and spoiler alert, they feature CHJ Elite & Sooner 7 kids! Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone for more content from this weekend's tournament.
Jahmecco Harris - 5th Grade - CHJ Elite
Anytime we cover the 10U or 12U divisions, there are a handful of players that have already gone through a growth spurt and they have as much as a six inch advantage over just about everyone else on the field. Jahmecco Harris was that guy for the 10U division this weekend. Harris was an absolute monster in the red zone with his long frame and height advantage, there was almost nothing defenses could do when Harris would run a fade route and get a jump ball thrown his way. But Harris also had solid hands to finish the play.
Maverick Bartmann - 4th Grade - Sooner 7
With most of the Sooner 7 teams in the various divisions, they usually have and play multiple quarterbacks throughout the weekend and the 10U team was no exception. But 4th grader Maverick Bartmann caught our eye on Saturday and that continued on Sunday. And the wind this weekend was absolutely brutal and the main quarterbacks in Sunday's championship game were able to battle through it. Bartmann impressed us on Saturday with his ability to throw accurate passes and
Michael Adams - 5th Grade - CHJ Elite
5th grader Michael Adams was another CHJ Elite standout that stood out to us this weekend on both sides of the ball. We got a chance to watch two of their games on Saturday and then the championship game on Sunday. And Adams definitely got off to a fast start on Saturday as he was able to be a consistent playmaker on the offensive side of the ball and then turn around and work on defense. As we said with Harris, CHJ Elite definitely impressed us this weekend as this whole group could have a very bright future.
Roy Tillis - 5th Grade - CHJ Elite
CHJ Elite rolled to the 10U championship this weekend and quarterback Roy Tillis was a big reason why. This team absolutely smashed their way through pool play on Saturday and Tillis was throwing darts all over the field. As we mentioned with Bartmann earlier, the wind was crazy this weekend and quarterbacks in every division had to deal with it. Tillis continued to thrive in the conditions and was putting the ball where his receivers could make play after play. The accuracy and ball placement definitely stood out to us throughout the weekend.
Zion Gibbs - 5th Grade - CHJ Elite
CHJ Elite standout Zion Gibbs was one of our favorite players to watch in the 10U division because of his overall playmaking ability. First off, Gibbs was incredibly consistent on the offensive side of the ball. He became one of the top targets in the passing game for Tillis. But Gibbs would turn around and play cornerback on defense and he was making countless plays on that side of the ball. Overall, it was a really solid weekend for Gibbs and he ended up being one of the top overall players in the 10U division.
Zion Troutman - 4th Grade - Sooner 7
4th grader Zion Troutman was right there at the top of the list of players that impressed us the most in the 10U division. Troutman was outstanding on the offensive side of the ball throughout the day on Saturday and that only continued on Sunday. Troutman made some huge catches and earned Top Performer honors on Saturday and then he continued to elevate his game during bracket play. For just a 4th grader, Troutman certainly looked the part. We'd make the argument that he was the best Sooner 7 player this weekend.
