Osbourn Park High School and Head Coach Robert Holland hosted Action in the Park this past Saturday at their outstanding facility. Coach Holland not only had a 7v7 tournament going on, he also had the lineman challenge occurring behind his stadium. I thought this was a great idea as they had kids from numerous schools in Northern Virginia participating. Both the linemen challenge and the 7v7s were very well organized and every kid on hand was able to get better. Here is part 1 of my standouts:

Osbourn Park's returning all star Center/Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1345930' first='Arbnor' last='Morina'] looks healthy and ready to play at the next level. He was dominant during the 1vs1 portion of the linemen challenge, he is trending in the right direction before his senior years kicks off in Manassas. Morina is 6'3 and 315 lbs., you will see him on both offense and defense this fall. A 3.6 GPA Morina is sure to get opportunities from Division 2 schools or higher, impressive young man to watch yesterday.

Wakefield was sure fun to watch in both linemen challenge and 7v7s, [player_tooltip player_id='1663285' first='Jeremiah' last='Mccray'] will be a fun one to watch for the Warriors in 2025. He oozes with potential at 6'5 and 305 lbs., Mccray was certainly a standout for the defensive linemen all morning. He fires off the football with quickness and passion, I could see a lot of schools looking his way come 2026. He has a good base and is still very raw, competing in a loaded Liberty conference should only help him.

West Springfield's [player_tooltip player_id='1298213' first='Scott' last='Lewis'] was perhaps the best quarterback on site yesterday. He was slinging it all morning and looks more comfortable firmly trenched in as the Spartans starter this fall. To catch you up to to speed Lewis was in more of a quarterback carousel last season. When he took control later in the year, Coach Parker's offense started to take off.

Lewis consistently was throwing darts to numerous targets as he lead his team all the way to the championship game yesterday. A top performer at our January showcase, I am excited to watch him grow into a leadership role at the next level. Standing at 6'3, he should have an ample amount of interest coming his way soon.

While Lewis may have been the best overall quarterback on the day, Skyline's baller [player_tooltip player_id='1663290' first='Dayshawn' last='Haley'] was a close second. Haley looked poised and calm in the pocket, really like the way he operated the Hawks offense. Haley also did not have a couple of their all star playmakers on hand but it didn't matter he still lead Skyline to the tournament semi-finals. He was an all conference specialist in 2024 and with firm control of the offense this fall, buy high on Skyline's postseason stock (again).

[player_tooltip player_id='1663291' first='Brian' last='Bowers'] looks like a hidden gem for Thomas Jefferson High school. Playing tackle and defensive end for the past couple of years, I thought he looked really comfortable as a tight end and receiver yesterday. He caught numerous targets and clearly has a understanding of their route tree, college coaches should start to take notice. Bowers is 6'3 and 210 lbs., I would consider him a late bloomer at the tight end position, you will not be disappointed.

Woodson is going through a rebuild in 2025 and will need to rely on guys like our 10th ranked tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1209639' first='Jem' last='Sandino'] quite often. He made some tough contested catches, really like the potential of this dude. Sandino is 6'4 and 220 lbs., and a very good route runner. If I were the Cavaliers I would have a special set of plays designated for him to get their quarterback comfortable. He could be an all conference selection as a senior and division 2 schools or higher should be salivating over him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1663295' first='Alexander' last='Cafer'] is going to be an all conference defensive end and you will learn more about him for his work at tight end in 2025 too. Yesterday you could see his potential with a number of good contested catches. Coach Cockerham told me beforehand he expects big things from the rising junior and I could see why. Cafer is 6'2 and will be a relentless force on both sides of the ball this fall.
