Spring practice is right around the corner for Louisiana high school football teams, but many prospects around the state have remained active throughout the four-plus months since their past season ended.

The first quarter of the year is always busy with offseason workouts, travel 7-on-7 and recruiting camp circuits.

There's no way to cover all bases on every player who's raised his stock or shown progress, but here's a look at six rising seniors, to name a few, who have clearly been effective with their spring work.

The long-anticipated LSU offer arriving in early April is the headline for Howard, but it's also the culmination of a busy spring on the 7-on-7 and camp circuits and his work during the past year (and more) to be pushing 180 pounds, running in the 4.5-second range on his 40-yard dashes and snatching interceptions against top competition in big tournaments around the region.

[player_tooltip player_id='1237615' first='Dezyrian' last='Ellis'] — 6-2, 180 ATH — Franklin Parish

Sticking with the LSU theme, "Pook" picked up his offer from the home-state Tigers at the beginning of February, early in the 7-on-7 schedule. But, both in the weeks before and the months since that big recruiting moment, the spring has been a big opportunity for Ellis to rack up reps at corner and safety against talented receivers from around the country. The all-state quarterback for his Patriots in the fall has a variety of college options available, including a variety of positions. But defensive back looks like the likeliest fit at the next level, so the experience has been a plus as he prepares for that potential transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='1757592' first='Malique' last='Credit'] — 5-8, 145 WR/ATH — Franklin Parish

Another of the Patriots' rising seniors who has had a strong spring on the 7-on-7 circuit, Credit has been determined this year to make up for lost time after being banged up this past fall. He lived open on underneath and intermediate routes the past couple months for Team Heru and Fleaux with his route-running and breaks to create late separation and caught everything thrown his direction.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581312' first='Greg' last='Wilfred'] — 5-9, 165 WR — Edna Karr

Howard will be the first to praise how difficult his Coastline Stars 7-on-7 teammate is to cover. Wilfred was among the team's wealth of weapons who at times traded stretches as go-to targets and also earned camp MVP recognition among the receivers when the Under Armour circuit made its New Orleans stop. Arkansas State and South Alabama have been among the latest offers for the quick route-runner and sure-handed pass-catcher. He'll hit Rivals camp in Dallas in early May next.

[player_tooltip player_id='283987' first='Roderick' last='Tezeno Jr.'] — 6-2, 175 WR — Opelousas Catholic

The Vikings' multisport standout has been among Louisiana's hottest 2026 prospects on the recruiting trail this spring with a slew of fresh SEC offers joining his list among the highlights. Tezeno was a go-to target for his 4th Quarter Mentality squad with a long catch radius, a knack for playing the ball at its highest point and the speed to stretch the field vertically and get upfield for yards after the catch. And he also added a few impressive defensive plays along the way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1757515' first='Kervin' last='Johnson Jr.'] — 6-3, 190 WR — Tioga

The Indians' standout was one of Louisiana's top jump-ball pass-catchers on the 7-on-7 circuit this spring with a tournament-to-tournament trail of highlight-reel touchdowns to add to his résumé. Johnson boasts great size for the next level, strong hands, a solid build and a good feel for using his body to shield off defenders and make tough contested catches through contact. McNeese State became his first offer this spring and shouldn't be his last.
