The 65 players added to the Prep RedZone Class of 2027 rankings all earned their spots in a variety of methods.

The PRZ staff took the first half of the offseason to further evaluate those players' impacts from the 2024 season, but also what they've done since. What we found was a large wave of players ready to make their mark on the state's football landscape.

Twelve of those new additions call the Grand Strand and Pee Dee home. Let's start breaking down each of them.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664650' first='Jaiden' last='Green'] OL, Darlington

The Falcons' right guard isn't tall (5-foot-11), but at 360 pounds he takes up a decent chunk of real estate and is an excellent run blocker who has helped Darlington mesh well into its run-heavy scheme. When the Falcons do throw, he more than holds his own.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581470' first='George' last='Handley'] DL, Carolina Forest

Handley has been a weight room junkie for longer than he's been in high school, and he's now got two years with the Panthers to prove that his high motor can be an effective weapon off the edge. He's got quick feet and more than enough power to succeed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664640' first='Paul' last='Livingston'] WR, Socastee

The Braves are losing [player_tooltip player_id='413888' first='Josh' last='Brown'] to graduation, but Livingston gives them a plug-and-play replacement capable to taking over for Brown's role. Livingston is 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds and capable of using his build to box out would-be defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664629' first='Jaden' last='Chestnut'] RB, North Myrtle Beach

Much like Livingston, Chestnut earned some decent snaps last fall without having to be the primary player at the position for the Chiefs. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry and got into the end zone three times. He's going to have a chance to build rhythm immediately.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664628' first='DeAndre' last='Stackhouse'] OL, Mullins

Auctioneers quarterabck Kanazzion Bethea gives Mullins a true dual-threat signal caller who helped move this squad back to respectability. It doesn't happen as quickely without guys like Stackhouse manning the trenches. He's a 6-foot-3, 355-pound lineman who loves opening the lanes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664624' first='Ja'Mere' last='Ross'] RB, Johnsonville

We didn't know exactly how fast Ross was until he showed up to the Carolinas Coaches Combines last month and ripped off a peak speed of 22.56 miles per hour. He went for 500 rushing yards as a sophomore, and he's a threat to double it up as a junior.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664618' first='Keontae' last='Scipio'] LB, Darlington

Scipio can float seemlessly between the middle of the defense to the outside to the edge. He can make tackles in space or drop into coverage. He can blitz or move to the sidelines. Those tools have and will continue to come in handy for the Falcons now that he's an upperclassman.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664594' first='Avery' last='Weaver'] QB, West Florence

Weaver, also a budding baseball prospect, made the most of his opportunities leading the Knights' offense last year, throwing for 736 yards, rushing for another 275 and putting up a combined 11 touchdowns against just one pick.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664583' first='Jaquez' last='Dargan'] LB, Lamar

One season after piling up 83 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and two fumble recoveries, Dargan now steps into a role that will fill some voids left from graduations. His numbers should continue to climb as a junior with the Silver Foxes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1623916' first='Brian' last='Wilson II'] DB, Wilson (pictured)

Making the move to Florence alongside his father should help Wilson continue to develop in the defensive backfield. The corner only has 10 gaves of varsity experience, but he's done enough to warrant a nice role for the Tigers moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664545' first='JJ' last='Brown'] WR, Myrtle Beach

Brown lost half of his sophomore season to injury, but when he was on the field he provided the Seahawks with an excellent sideline target. Brown caught 11 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns in six games and now becomes WR1 for Myrtle Beach.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664521' first='Zirell' last='McKiver-Barker'] OL, Marlboro County

Count McKiver-Barker as one of the Bulldogs most affected by the playoff ban from last fall. In place of games, he took on more work in the weight room and looks like he has the chops to become a college guard once he's done at the high school level.
