As we approach the end of March, the 2025 high school football offseason is in full force. With that being said, we have started a new round of rankings updates with the class of 2028 being the most recent to be released in the state of Kentucky. After already covering the top players at each position, I wanted to take some time to focus on some under the radar prospects who fell just outside the top five at their positions. With the offensive and defensive sides of the ball already being taken care of, here are some under the radar ATH in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky who make an impact at multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='953617' first='Elijah' last='Bishop'] is a player who jumped onto my radar with an impressive freshman year. He showed versatility on defense, showing the ability to line up at both safety and outside linebacker. Against the run, he does a great job of reading the play then coming downhill in a hurry to make the tackle. Bishop finished his freshman year with 52 tackles and three tackles for loss in 10 games. He also came away with one interception and made an impact on offense at running back, carrying the ball 30 times for 110 yards while also catching six passes for 21 yards. Elijah should definitely be a player to watch heading into his sophomore year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1274961' first='Timmy' last='Williams'] is a player who caught my attention when breaking down freshman year film. Williams saw some time at quarterback where he was mainly a running threat, finishing the year with 16 carries for 123 yards and two touchdowns in two games played. He is dangerous in the open field, showing the elusiveness to make defenders miss and speed to run away from the defense. Timmy also threw for 124 yards and a touchdown. Williams should be a player to watch as he continues to develop over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='423481' first='JaAubrey' last='Sherrill'] is a player who stood out to me as a middle schooler and continued to impress as a freshman this past season. On offense, Sherrill made an impact at receiver, catching seven passes for 82 yards in 11 games. He is very reliable on screen passes, showing the speed and elusiveness in the open field to pick up extra yards. Sherrill also carried the ball nine times for 29 yards and a touchdown, and proved to be a reliable returner on special teams. He also made an impact on defense at corner, finishing the year with 18 tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception. JaAubrey should be a player to continue to watch on both sides of the ball over the next three years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1289525' first='Mika' last='Smith'] had a solid freshman year out of the backfield, leading South Laurel in rushing with 57 carries for 310 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games. Smith is a hard runner, showing the ability to keep his feet running through contact to pick up extra yards. He also has shown the contact balance to bounce off defenders without breaking stride in the open field. Mika also made an impact on defense at linebacker, finishing the season with nine tackles. Smith should definitely be a player to watch this upcoming season.

My final under the radar ATH to watch in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky is [player_tooltip player_id='951327' first='Nash' last='Whelan']. Whelan mainly made an impact on the defensive side of the ball but showed versatility, showing the ability to play both outside linebacker and in a nickel/strong safety role. He is very reliable against the run, showing the ability to read the play quickly then come downhill in a hurry to make the tackle. Whelan finished this past season with 22 tackles and three tackles for loss in six games. He also showed the ability to drop into coverage and read routes when playing in the nickel. Nash will be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop over the next three seasons.
