Spring Spotlight: Class of 2028 Region 7 Quarterbacks

Florida has long been a hotbed of high school football talent. Annually, Florida produces some of the nation's top prospects. Florida athletes are known for their speed, agility, and raw athleticism. These prospects have made names for themselves and have caught the attention of coaches and scouts at the collegiate level. With the 2025 season getting closer, we're looking for players whose stock is rising in the state.   These players are all talented and have college-level abilities. Some of these players have a few offers, but all of them have the ability to play college football at some level.   There are some big-time, highly rated prospects and several sleeper prospects who should all be getting looks for the next level. This list is full of stud prospects. Champ Monds, Quarterback – Vero Beach High   Height/Weight: 6'3", 200 lbs   Stats Summary: 181-268, 2,234 yards, 23 touchdowns | 142 carries, 502 yards, 9 touchdowns   Evaluation: Monds is one of the premier quarterback prospects in his class, already boasting 16 Division 1 offers. His combination of size, arm talent, and athleticism makes him a high-level dual-threat quarterback. His efficiency as a passer (over 67% completion rate) and ability to make plays with his legs make him a nightmare for defenses. With continued refinement in decision-making and mechanics, he has the potential to be one of the top recruits in the country.   [player_tooltip player_id='1568036' first='Marcus' last='Stracke'], Quarterback – Spanish River High   Height/Weight: 6'1", 176 lbs   Stats Summary: 113-163, 1,710 yards, 19 touchdowns | 15 carries, 107 yards, 4 touchdowns   Evaluation: Stracke put up outstanding numbers as a freshman, showing excellent accuracy and the ability to spray the ball all over the field. His 69% completion rate is one of the best among his peers, and he also showed mobility when needed. Stracke's pocket presence and ability to process defenses are advanced for his age. With his skill set and frame, he is a quarterback to watch as he continues to develop.   AJ Chung, Quarterback – West Orange High   Height/Weight: 6'0", 160 lbs   Stats Summary: 64-103, 861 yards, 8 touchdowns   Evaluation: Chung is one of the fastest-rising quarterback prospects in the state, earning three Division 1 offers this offseason. He displays strong accuracy and poise in the pocket, with a quick release and sound mechanics. His efficiency as a passer continues to improve, and he has the ability to make plays at all levels of the field. With continued development in reading defenses and increasing his arm strength, Chung's stock could continue to rise as he gains more experience.   Ezekiel French, Quarterback – Lake Brantley High   Height/Weight: 5'11", 160 lbs   Stats Summary: 45-85, 555 yards, 5 touchdowns   Evaluation: French has shown flashes of potential, but his limited attempts indicate he is still growing into his role. As he continues to develop his decision-making and efficiency I expect him to progresses in his sophomore year. With more experience and physical growth, he could become a bigger factor in Lake Brantley's offense.   Eumarion Beal, Quarterback – Western High   Height/Weight: 5'9", 165 lbs   Stats Summary: 17-44, 278 yards | 3 carries, 20 yards   Evaluation: Beal is a developing quarterback who has shown flashes of potential in limited opportunities. His passing numbers indicate that he is still refining his accuracy and decision-making, but he has displayed mobility when needed. With more experience and reps, he can continue to grow as a passer and improve his overall command of the offense.   Overall Overview:   This group is led by Champ Monds, who is already a top national recruit with high-level production as both a passer and runner.
