Full disclosure: Most of us doing this job probably have the least amount of insight or conviction about specialists when it comes to rankings. For me, it's not that I'm uninterested. I'm the least knowledgable on what makes one really good at kicking, punting and long-snapping compared to other positions.

As a result, after watching available film, I lean heavily on college interest and rankings from the specialist specialists. The Kohl and Sailer organizations include experts and see more prospects than anyone else.

Our No. 1 kicker in the 2026 Class is ranked 100th nationally by Kohl's Kicking. He was evaluated at the scouting service's 2024 Texas Winter Showcase. He impressed the on-lookers there, especially with his kickoffs and punts. There's no doubting that he possesses a strong leg. Scott's longest field goal from last season was a 47-yarder. All told, he connected on 48 of 50 extra-point tries and blasted 31 kickoffs that resulted in touchbacks. He also averaged 38.5 yards on 34 punts.

Nettles is a part of a smooth operation in Council Bluffs. He gets the ball to the holder so classmate [player_tooltip player_id='401672' first='Jimmy' last='Scott'], the state's top kicker, can blast the ball through the uprights. Kohl's Kicking recognizes Nettles as the No. 26 long-snapper nationally in the recruiting cycle. He competed at the '24 Kohl's Midwest Winter Showcase, scoring on 10 of his 12 long snaps with an average snap time of .72 seconds. Nettles displayed athleticism by running a 4.89-second 40-yard dash. At this year's Kohl's Underclassman Challenge, the scouting service was pleased with his growth as a snapper.

As we witness during his junior highlight video, Stitz excels at directional punting and in achieving hang time on his offerings. Most of his kicks are fair-caught or difficult to handle. Stitz is a multi-sport athlete that has room to grow a lot as a punter if he decides to focus on it full-time.

It opens with him expertly executing an on-side kick. His has a clean leg swing with good form on field-goal and PAT attempts. He connected on 2 of his 3 three-point tries last season and proved true on 44 of 45 extra points.

Scupham shared kicking duties for the Bulldogs in 2024 but will have the job to himself this fall. That should allow him to expand on a campaign that saw him go 4 for 4 on field-goal attempts with a long from 47 yards out. He also was in a punting time-share, averaging 37.7 yards on 14 kicks. He secured 18 touchdowns on 29 kickoffs. He displays impressive power when hitting the ball punting or kicking. He's definitely one to watch this summer when he camps at colleges.
