East Bay Learns From The 2024 Season

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When Gibsonton East Bay dropped a District 8-5A title game to Tampa Bay Tech, 54-19, on Nov. 11 of last season, it ended a six-game winning streak and sent the Indians limping into the state playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While they would lose that playoff game to Orlando Edgewater, it served notice to this team, head coach <strong>DeAndra' Simmons</strong> and his assistant coaches that this program was indeed on the right path to becoming a program that could compete each week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While those losses – coupled with the setbacks during the regular season to Dover Strawberry Crest and Lithia Newsome stung a bit, it gave these players a sense that the work they put in was slowly paying off, finishing 7-4.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As they entered the off-season, the focus once again was on a returning group of prospects in the rising senior (2026) class that would certainly be the heart and soul of this team when play began in 2025. It as also with the way this team has also gotten after it in the classroom, with every player stepping up their game with lofty grades.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With some leadership and talent, this is a class that will set the tempo and get this team one step further.
