If there's one thing I love more than the football season, it's getting hyped for the season. So, as part of my “way too early” coverage, I wanted to highlight some of the top 1-2 punches you schools expect to see in 2025. In my “Dynamic Duos” series I will be featuring some of the best tandems in the state.

Here is the second part of our new “Dynamic Duos” series:

The Wolves have one of the most stacked position groups in the state with two 3-star LBs and one of the best '27 LBs in Nebraska. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='488116' first='Jase' last='Reynolds'] & [player_tooltip player_id='1114606' first='Barry' last='Fries'] and sophomore Ian Christo played like their hair was on fire in 2024 as they finished 1-2-3 in tackles for the Wolves, each recording at least 90 tackles. Jase (6'3", 195 lbs) ended his junior season with 90 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, a sack, and a forced fumble. Reynolds flashes as a versatile defender who plays with excellent instincts and range to cover from sideline to sideline and plays fluid coverage when asked to do so. Jase has been a popular prospect on the recruiting trail with offers from the Air Force, Lindenwood, Kansas State, and Nebraska. Barry (6'3", 225 lbs) finished near the top of the state in tackles with 122 total tackles, three TFLs, one sack, and a fumble recovery. Fries is a throwback middle linebacker who can blow up runs with his smart gap play, violent hands, and non-stop pursuit of the ball. Since the end of the season, Barry has also been a hot name among recruiting circles, with offers from South Dakota State, Wyoming, Air Force, Lindenwood, and Iowa State. Ian (6'1", 180 lbs) showed out with an amazing breakout season in which he finished with 90 tackles, two TFLs, and a sack. Ian is the young gun of the trio but plays with a motor that is hard to match and a well-rounded skillset that includes defending the run, pressuring the QB, and dropping into coverage.

[player_tooltip player_id='402156' first='Kaprice' last='Keith'] (2026 - S) & [player_tooltip player_id='422820' first='Tory' last='Pittman III'] (2027 - S): Omaha Central

The Eagles' secondary was already looking like a strong point with 5-star [player_tooltip player_id='422820' first='Tory' last='Pittman III'] patrolling the deep field, now you add a super athletic 3-star safety alongside him in [player_tooltip player_id='402156' first='Kaprice' last='Keith'] and you have possibly the top safety duo in the state. Kaprice (6'3", 180 lbs) joins the Eagles after transferring from Bellevue West, giving them another very rangy safety who plays with elite instincts and has the ball skills to make him a threat to snag the ball away. Kaprice finished his junior season with 15 tackles, three interceptions, a fumble recovery, 352 receiving yards, four receiving touchdowns, and two punt return touchdowns. Kaprice shut things down with his commitment to Iowa State. Pittman (6'0" 185 lbs) is an elite athlete who can cover a great majority of the field, excelling in both pass defense and run support. Tory ended his sophomore season with 54 tackles, a TFL, and three interceptions. Since arriving in the high school ranks, Tory has emerged as one of the top 2027 prospects in the country, earning 5-star status and drawing offers from LSU, Kansas State, Mizzou, Miami, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Nebraska, and USC. With these two erasing plays over top, getting anything against these guys will be hard.

[player_tooltip player_id='795743' first='Caden' last='Ward'] (2026 - TE) & [player_tooltip player_id='499433' first='Mason' last='Cotton'] (2027 - TE)

The Knights will be dealing with turnover at several key positions, but one position that will be a huge strength will be the tight ends where they have two of the top TEs in the next two recruiting cycles. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='795743' first='Caden' last='Ward'] (6'3", 215 lbs) returns after recording 164 receiving yards and a touchdown on 10 receptions last season. Caden has long been considered one of the best blocking tight ends in his class, using great technique and flashing solid strength when executing his blocks. He's also a solid pass-catcher with strong hands and solid RAC ability. Caden recently received his first D1 offer from Penn, so we should expect more teams to jump on board soon. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='499433' first='Mason' last='Cotton'] (6'3", 210 lbs) is the team's leading receiver in terms of returning production, with 208 yards and five touchdowns on 21 receptions. Mason is a strong, physical receiver who can use his size to bully defenders around the line of scrimmage and at the catch point. He's shown the versatility to play inside or outside, and impressed with his route running while watching him in person. The Knights will have a new quarterback starting for them in the fall, and they will thankfully have these two as security blankets to throw to.
