If there's one thing I love more than the football season, it's getting hyped for the season. So, as part of my “way too early” coverage I wanted to highlight some of the top 1-2 punches you schools expect to see in 2025. In my “Dynamic Duos” series I will be featuring some of the best tandems in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='402157' first='Landen' last='Von Seggern'] (2026 - LT) & [player_tooltip player_id='1114437' first='Antonio' last='Harris'] (2026 - RT) - Millard South

Having a 1-2 punch at a skill position, great! A 1-2 punch in the backfield, awesome! Now, a 1-2 punch at each offensive tackle position is an absolute luxury. That's the case at Millard South as they feature two of the top offensive tackles in the state in juniors [player_tooltip player_id='402157' first='Landen' last='Von Seggern'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1114437' first='Antonio' last='Harris']. Landen (6'4”, 280 lbs) is a mauler with sound technique and footwork at the point of attack. Landen started gaining D1 offers last summer before announcing his commitment to Illinois. Antonio (6'3", 280 lbs) holds down the right side of the line, flashing as a physical run-blocker who can dominate opponents when engaged and is constantly looking to finish his blocks. The formidable tandem also does a great job in pass protection, as evidenced by the numbers the Millard South offense was able to put up.

[player_tooltip player_id='402141' first='Bryson' last='Williams'] (2026 - S) & [player_tooltip player_id='795605' first='Reid' last='McIntyre'] (2026 S) - Omaha Westside fielded one of the top defenses in Class A last season, giving up little on the ground and even less in the air. Part of that was having two play-making safeties, juniors [player_tooltip player_id='402141' first='Bryson' last='Williams'] and [player_tooltip player_id='795605' first='Reid' last='McIntyre'], with the range and closing speed to make plays from anywhere on the field. Bryson ended his junior campaign with 66 tackles, four fumble recoveries (two returned for TD), three interceptions (one returned for TD), three blocked kicks, and a TFL. Bryson is especially impressive in coverage where he plays with great instincts and possesses elite ball skills. Williams has since been one of the fastest-rising prospects in the state with offers from North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Washington State, Colorado State, Cal-State Sacramento, and Lindenwood. Reid was the Warrior's team leader in tackles as a junior with 100 total tackles, two TFLs, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. Reid is a fearless safety who has no problems stepping into the box to help out against the run and is athletic enough to drop into coverage. McIntyre recently received his first offer from Minnesota State-Mankato and will likely keep rising this offseason.

Gretna's [player_tooltip player_id='1429588' first='Bryce' last='Lakers'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1573606' first='Drew' last='Boltz'] formed one of the most electric WR tandems last season and return for one more season of terrorizing Class B defenses. Lakers and Boltz combined for over 100 receptions and 24 touchdowns, with 61 catches/14 touchdowns and 41 catches/10 touchdowns, respectively. Bryce ended the year second in the state with 1,284 receiving yards, proving to be QB Knudsen's most reliable target. The Lakers were impressed last season with how well he could accelerate downfield to slip past defenses to spring free for the long ball. Drew played great as the WR2, racking up 651 receiving yards and using his sharp route-running ability to carve up defenses at all field levels. With Lakers and Boltz back in the fold, you should expect to see more explosive plays coming from the Dragon's offense.

Here's another dynamic receiving duo to keep an eye on next season. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1114855' first='Wyatt' last='Dent'] and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1192526' first='Turner' last='Hanke'] were key players in one of the most explosive offenses in Class C1, helping the Bison reach the state championship game. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1114855' first='Wyatt' last='Dent'] hauled in 78 catches for 1,097 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns. Dent is a bigger receiver who doesn't mind getting physical at the line or battling for contested catches. Hanke erupted onto the scene last year with 42 catches for 712 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns. Turner is also a bigger-bodied receiver with underrated speed, allowing him to fly past defenses. With a good chunk of the offense running it back in 2025, this could be a deep November team to watch.
