Since his debut in 2022, Callan Messerich has been a game-changer for the River Hawks, and he's easily cemented his position as arguably the best WR in the 8-man league. His 1237 receiving yards led all receivers in Iowa last season, and 19 of his 62 total receptions were touchdowns. His production has been ridiculous over the last 2 seasons as he's posted back-to-back 1000 yard campaigns. A big part of Messerich's success comes by how his team constantly motions him in the lineup, allowing him to excel whether by beating his DBs in 1-on-1 situations, or by sneaking out into the flat. Messerich does an outstanding job after the catch, being able to juke and make quick cuts to get defenders off-balance and rack up much of his production after the catch. Messerich has been flying under the radar across the state over the last few seasons, but he's easily been one of the biggest playmakers of the 8-man league to watch over the last few seasons.

GTRA's passing game excelled last season with 2 different QBs, and the common denominator of that success came from [player_tooltip player_id='1656847' first='Jaxson' last='Schnell']. Schnell finished with 1040 receiving yards on 47 receptions and 18 touchdowns, averaging 22.1 yards per reception. Clocking a 4.6 40 yard time, Schnell's speed is prevalent on the field as he's been able to burn defenders after the catch. His deep threat ability is further enhanced by his willingness to make the difficult play, whether by making diving catches or going up high to make the catch. Schnell should remain as the primary catalyst for GTRA's offensive productivity heading into his senior campaign.

We've mentioned [player_tooltip player_id='1034037' first='Hudson' last='Clark'] before for his return ability, but he's been just as dangerous in the 8-man league for his pass-catching. Clark finished with 1005 receiving yards on 55 catches and 14 touchdowns last season. Clark's game speed is unmatchable, and it seems that every time the ball gets into his hands, Clark will find his way to the end zone. Clark shows great vision and agility, being able to cut back and create lanes to reach to the end zone. Clark will try to cap off his high school career with a state title after losing in the championship game last season.

While Lone Tree's performance on the field declined last season, 2024 saw the emergence of Domonic Garcia as a prominent threat for their passing game. Garcia finished with 531 yards on 33 catches and 11 touchdowns. Garcia is a flexible all-purpose WR, adding 160 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns as a wide-back, and adding over 400 kick return yards and a return touchdown on special teams. Garcia is another versatile and sneaky athlete that can be lined up in a variety of positions in the lineup and make a big impact wherever he is on the offense. That ability will be vital toward guiding Lone Tree back in the right direction in 2025.

Despite not getting a lot of catches during the 2024 season, I don't think I've seen anyone who did more with what they got during the year than Paul McNeill. McNeill finished with 554 receiving yards on only 19 catches and 7 touchdowns, averaging a whopping 29.2 yards per reception. McNeill was a steady presence in a passing game where the receivers often had to adjust their routes to fit the improvisational style of their QB. McNeill didn't have to adjust too often as he won off his matchups, utilizing his speed and agility to burn DBs down the field and to extend the play after the catch with his quick cuts. McNeill's should be on the radar in 2025 as one of the most underrated playmakers to watch in this group.

Over the last 2 seasons, Collin Bower has solidified himself as one of the most trustworthy targets in CAM's passing offense. Bower finished last season with 534 yards on 28 catches and 12 touchdowns. CAM had Bower line up outside often last season, and his larger upper frame made him a big-bodied receiver who could bull over defenders. Bower has excellent route-running, being able to stretch the ball down the field while being reliable as a checkdown option who could fight for solid yardage after the catch. Bower could see an uptick in production as a senior as he clearly is target No. 1 for CAM's passing game heading into 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1358991' first='JW' last='Linkenhoker'] is a prominent LB prospect for the class of 2025, but he is just as proficient as a vertical threat in the passing game at the TE position. Linkenhoker finished with 514 yards on just 25 catches and 10 touchdowns. He also ran for 393 yards and 5 touchdowns, averaging 9.1 yards per carry as an added presence in a deep backfield. Linkenhoker showcased multi-purpose ability for the team, utilizing his length and explosive first step to beat his defenders often, allowing him to stretch the field vertically despite playing on the line. Linkenhoker will continue to make a significant impact on the field for Fremont-Mills as one of the team's best players overall.

Max Edwards often caught passes last season from his older brother Jake at QB, and he emerged as a reliable target for the Wolves' passing game in 2024. Edwards caught 31 passes for 552 yards and 7 touchdowns. Edwards' length and wingspan allows him to gain leverage on blockers easily whether to support the run game or to get off the line, but Edwards proved that he can stretch the field as a dangerous vertical threat. Edwards will be catching passes from a new QB next season, but his athletic ability is undeniably prevalent on the Wolves' offense, and if he can build some mass this offseason, Edwards could pose as a legitimate stud that could translate to the college level.
