As we get deeper into the month of March, the 2025 high school football season is in full swing! With that in mind, we will now be beginning another round of rankings updates. To kick off this round of updates, we have released our first rankings for the class of 2028. With these rankings being officially posted, I will be taking the next week or so to break them down by position. After already covering the quarterbacks and running backs, here are our top wide receivers and tight ends in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='871291' first='Avery' last='Thompson'] established himself as one of the top overall players in the state in his class with a strong freshman season. He finished the year with 36 receptions for 454 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games. Thompson is a dangerous deep threat, using his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease to create separation. He is also impressive after the catch, showing the speed and elusiveness in the open field to pick up extra yards. Avery currently holds multiple Power 4/Division I offers and I expect that list to continue to grow over the next few seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='871288' first='Kingston' last='Dillard'] is a player who quickly caught my attention as a freshman. He finished this past season with a team-leading 41 catches for 596 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games. Dillard is electric with the ball in his hands in the open field, showing the ability to use his speed and elusiveness to turn short passes/screens into big gains at any given moment. He is also an impressive route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. Dillard also finished his freshman year with one rushing touchdown. Kingston doesn't currently hold any offers but he is a player who I expect college coaches to be keeping a close eye on heading into his sophomore year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1269565' first='Jace' last='Hagy'] had a strong first season of high school football, finishing the year with 28 receptions for 435 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games. Hagy has very explosive speed which he uses to blow by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game and to run away from the defense after the catch. He has also shown the elusiveness in the open field to make defenders miss after the catch. Jace also returned one kickoff for a touchdown as a freshman and made an impact on defense, finishing the year with 27 tackles and one tackle for loss. Hagy should be a player to continue to keep an eye on over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1240849' first='Jude' last='Lanier'] is a receiver who caught my attention when breaking down freshman year film. He finished this past season with 21 receptions for 480 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games. Lanier is impressive after the catch, showing the strength to break tackles with ease to pick up extra yards. He is also a skilled route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. Jude doesn't currently hold any offers but he should be a player to keep an eye on over the next three seasons as his role in the McCracken County offense continues to grow.

To wrap up our top five receivers in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1089872' first='Kane' last='Bell-Pointer']. Bell-Pointer played in a rotational role as a freshman but was productive when his number was called, finishing the year with 13 catches for 160 yards and a touchdown in 10 games. Kane is a skilled route runner, using quick breaks in his routes to create separation. He also has the speed to pose as a deep threat and is very reliable in contested catch situations, showing the athletic ability to go up and catch passes at their highest point along with the strong hands to bring in catches through contact. Kane should be a player to keep a close eye on as he continues to develop over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='952775' first='Jayvion' last='Fullwood'] established himself as the top tight end in the state in his class with a strong freshman year. He proved to be a dangerous threat in the passing game, finishing the season with 36 catches for 450 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games. Fullwood is a reliable target down the seam, using his speed to create separation with ease. He is also impressive in contested catch situations, showing the concentration and strong hands to bring in catches through contact. Jayvion is a player who I expect to start receiving some attention heading into his sophomore year.

The second and final tight end who made our initial top 75 rankings for the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky is [player_tooltip player_id='871292' first='Lukas' last='Olmstead']. Olmstead played a key role in the Knox Central passing game a freshman, catching 11 passes for 144 yards in 11 games. Lukas is an impressive route runner, showing the ability to find an opening in the secondary to settle into with ease. He has also shown some ability after the catch, showing the speed to get up the field and pick up extra yards. Olmstead should be a player to watch as he continues to develop over the next few seasons.
