The talent at the quarterback position in the great state of Texas is unprecedented. Year after year, the Lone Star State churns out NFL-caliber talent. Whether it's first-round picks or late-round hidden gems, their track record is beyond impressive. Today, I'm looking at some sleeper 2026 signal callers. Each guy put together a quality highlight tape and are names I believe we need to keep an eye on as we venture into the 2025 season.

Quaid Ferris, 6'4" 190, Bushland

Ferris has the frame of a Division One quarterback prospect. He's deadly accurate, completing 72% of his passes this fall, he's poised & not easily rattled by the rush and can throw off multiple different platforms. He's got easy touch on throws of twenty-five yards plus, he's a dynamic runner between the tackles, and has the speed to outrun defenders with an angle. He's got plenty of arm too and I think has a ton of upside for the next level.

Jakson Franklin, 6'3" 190, Katy

Franklin is a natural in Katy's pro-style offense, he's got relaxed footwork, deceptive play-fakes, and a quick setup. He throws well on the run, he does a good job squaring his shoulders to his target and placing the football right on his receiver's numbers. He's an easy thrower on quick game concepts and can get the ball out of his hand in a hurry. I'd like to see him stretch the field more vertically and I think we will as a senior.

Tucker Vogel, 6" 175, William Howard

Vogel has a quick wind-up, he identifies man coverage pre-snap and will exploit it post-snap. He's willing to stand tall in the pocket and take a shot from an unblocked defender, he can make defenders miss on the ground and is consistently in rhythm as a passer. He drops the nine route right in the breadbasket, he shows excellent vision as a runner and has the power to break through arm tackle attempts.

Buck Steyn, 6'5" 205, San Marcos

Buck has enough athletic ability to make an impact on called gap scheme quarterback runs. He's a natural at improvising and thrives when his backyard style of play comes out. He'll work to his third and fourth read in a progression, he's tough, durable, and can put the football where he wants to when forced to throw off-balance.
