Roseville Raiders Prospect Analysis

The Roseville Raiders have had their ups and downs as a team over the last few seasons, but they've always managed to produce a few high-level athletes who have gone on to do great things at a variety of levels. Although last year they were a senior-heavy team, I've found a couple of incoming seniors, juniors, and sophomores who could have breakout seasons in 2025. Keep an eye out for these metro prospects next season!    A two-sport athlete who puts up some WILD weight room numbers across the board, Berry is one of the few defensive starters returning for 2025. In 9 games last season, Berry recorded 35 TTck and 2 TFLs, a promising stat line to build on ahead of his senior year. Most of his film is as an IDL, but I think his frame could lend itself well to edge rushing. He's got a high motor and proves to be a consistent threat to ball carriers running between the tackles. Keep an eye out for this weight room monster in 2025.     A likely contender for the coveted QB1 for the Raiders in 2025, Beltz had a little JV tape from last season that serves him well in terms of analysis. Most of his JV tape is from under the center, but you can see certain aspects of his game shine. He's deceptively quick, gets the ball out rapidly, and allows his receivers to go get the rock. I'd love to see more of his tape to further analyze his game.     Another top-notch returning starter, Finney, had a massive impact on the Raider's defense last season. He amassed a very impressive 50 total tackles, 5 TFLs, 2.0 Sacks, and a fumble recovery. A versatile player at heart, Finney put forth some incredible moments on his nearly 8-minute highlight tape where he lines up as an edge rusher and as an LB. In his film, Finney shows off incredible pursuit and a high motor early and often. He's quick, especially for his 225 lb frame. He gets a quick jump off the snap and relentlessly hawks down ball carriers. I think Finney is in a great position for an attention-grabbing senior season.     Folley is a wideout who is looking to explode and make a big impact on varsity next season. His JV greatly lends itself to this possibility. Folley is explosive and shows off high-level body control when bringing down very contested catches. He's got a variety of crafty releases off of the LOS. It is routinely a mistake to press him because he'll cook the DB and get at least a yard of separation off the corner. He makes a handful of difficult catches look easy. Folley is ready for that next level, and I'm gonna be pumped to watch the tape he produces.     A thick and imposing TE/DE, McGriff saw varsity time last season and looks to make a giant leap in 2025. Most of his 2024 body of work came as a run blocker, but he did manage to snag 2 catches for 29 yards and a TD as well. When he's blocking, McGriff often comes off the line low and does a nice job of hitting defenders at their bend point. He can seal an edge when you need him to and works well to the second level. If he got a little more nasty, McGriff could be a serious threat to defensive athletes.     A sophomore who saw some time on varsity last season, Bell had 14 rushes for 45 yards and 2 TDs. He didn't have a ton of tape available from his 2024 campaign, but what Bell did have was encouraging. Bell never stops churning his legs and he can make some quick cuts even in heavy traffic. He could play a bigger role during his junior season, so he might be worth adding to your radar now.     A 2028 prospect with a surprising frame, Olson had some freshman tape from last season that jumped out to me. His tight end tape in particular I found very promising. Olson moves far better than most kids his age with this frame would, and he's adept with the ball in his hands. As an LB, I'd like to see him play downhill a little more, but he does do a solid job of scraping to the alley and frequently finds himself in the backfield when he blitzes. Olson could be a prospect to know, especially by his junior year.
