Rising Sophomores to Watch for This Offseason

Today, we're looking at the next generation of recruits. These 2028 prospects shined at multiple different levels of high school football and made their claim on film. These guys are far from done though, with three more years of high school football left, I think they could be names known across the Lone Star State. Look for them to continue to physically mature and see their play improve year by year.   As always, If you have someone you think I need to see, please DM them to me on Twitter at @hsfbscout!   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   LB: [player_tooltip player_id='1716410' first='Lincoln' last='Dyke'], 6'3" 200, Mount Pleasant   The tape on Dyke is limited, but he has a projectable frame, good movement skills in space, and natural body control. He reads run and triggers, he plays with no hesitation, and is smooth in coverage. The upside of this kid is very real and he'll be someone to monitor over the next few seasons.   WR: Jaevon Kennerson, 5'11" 160, Crawford   A slender receiver who can play in the slot or on the outside, he's extremely competitive and can climb the ladder to make a play on the 50/50 ball. He's got soft hands, balance, concentration, and a surprisingly big catch radius for a guy his size. He can adjust to underthrown balls, has plenty of build-up speed, and does a good job separating himself late from the defender. I'm looking forward to seeing his varsity tape in the future.   ATH: [player_tooltip player_id='1218313' first='Theo' last='Abraham'], 5'11" 155, MacArthur   Theo is dynamic with the football in his hands, he shows terrific vision, burst, and the ability to get to the edge of a defense and be off to the races. He's patient, can mix in some power occasionally, and can make an impact as a receiver lined up on the outside. He was limited to only four games last fall, however, he was a big-time ball player in each matchup.   RB: Royce Swan, 5'9" 175, Pearland   A productive runner totaling 1,500 yards and seventeen touchdowns last fall. He's a downhill north and south runner that does a good job reading his blocks and can cut back against the grain at any moment. He's got a strong lower-half to muscle through arm tackle attempts, he'll lower his shoulder and drag tacklers with him and has a never-say-die running attitude.   EDGE: Demitri Johnson, 6'1" 215, University   Right now he plays as a 4I in a three-down front, however, I think he'll kick outside to a true edge at the next level. He's got the strength to fight off blocks in the run game, he consistently chases the football and will make ball carriers feel his presence on contact.
