There are additional items I would like to point out about the rankings for this particular class. Player stats play a significant role early in the rankings as does the fact that athletes have claimed profiles. Only a couple of athletes in this class have college offers, so that plays a larger factor down the road.

Prep Redzone scouts will provide multiple reports this week on the Class of 2027 and we will begin working on updating the Class of 2028 which will also be updated and published this month.

This is the second report on the new rankings and features athletes debuting in the rankings for the first time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560943' first='Maddon' last='Brittingham'], WR/RB, 6'1”, 190, Free State, ‘27

The Free State prospect debuts at No. 51 overall. He made 23 catches for 535 yards during his sophomore season. He was a factor on special teams gaining 284 yards on 12 kick returns. He missed two games due to injury.

[player_tooltip player_id='1556861' first='Wes' last='Riegel'], WR/ATH, 6'2”, 170, Blue Valley North, ‘27

Rigel debuts at No. 52 overall. The Mustang caught 28 balls for 519 yards. He found the end zone five times. He has nice size, making him a big target. He can be physical in the red zone and has the speed to break off a long score.

[player_tooltip player_id='1611769' first='Taveair' last='Cole'], LB/ATH, 5'9”, 185, Schlagle ‘27

Schlagle's Cole debuts at No. 53 overall. He was among the state leaders in tackles for sophomores. He collected 40 total tackles in seven games for the Stallions. One reason Cole debuted in the rankings is that he is one of the few debut athletes to take the initiative to create his profile on Prep Redzone. That type of determination could set him aside from other prospects down the line.

[player_tooltip player_id='1612742' first='Joseph' last='Mortensen'], DB/ATH, 5'10”, 180, Manhattan, ‘27

Mortensen enters the rankings in the No. 54 slot. He is another key addition to the rankings on the defensive side of the ball. He can play corner or safety and could get bigger and pay linebacker. In 13 games played as a sophomore, he recorded 40 tackles and nine pass breakups.

[player_tooltip player_id='1562422' first='Cody' last='Holzrichter'], OL, 6'3”, 302, Haven, ‘27

Haven's big offensive lineman joins the Class of 2027 ranking in the No. 55 position. He looks like he lives in the gym and eats pancakes for all three meals. He has nice speed for an offensive lineman; he was one of the few offensive linemen to enter the rankings during this update.
