New York State Recruiting: Class of 2027

<p>The class of 2027 has a lot of young talent that is ready to head into a huge junior season that can uplift their talent to college programs. Take a look at some players in New York from the 2027 class that you will want to be watching.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline">Quarterbacks:</span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">A talented QB to watch on tape who can play the QB position with anticipation, calmness, and athleticism with his legs. Can make a variety of throws on the football field and has a powerful arm to push the ball with accuracy and velocity. D'Acunto's passes were accurately placed in the corner of the end zone for his receivers with fluid touch. D'Acunto loves to run with the football, as he was able to make a number of defenders miss tackles in spaces. Henceforth, hitting deep shots was not shy in his game as well. Will be aggressive when he has to in taking certain matchups. Banculli was able to scan the field at a good level for his age. Conversely, he was able to extend plays with his legs when he had to on designed QB runs. Furthermore, the ability to fool defenses in play action was evident on film. Further, he is able to control defenders at the LOS with integrity. Defenders had a tough time trying to overpower him. Driving opponents backwards with his pure size and strength was a constant on film. Furthermore, better balance and footwork in his development will make him a better lineman at St. Anthony's.</p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline">Wide Receivers: </span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Shifty WR with the ability to do a variety of different things for his offense. He was able to take jet sweeps and work out of the slot position with a lot of YAC production. Furthermore, he was able to work out of the RB spot, showing off the burst in the open field. The ability to cut on a dime and weave in between defenders was evident on tape. Lastly, he is a threat on special teams as a returner. Lewis has a tremendous ability to get deep down the field and track the deep ball over the opposition because of his height. Many streaks and post routes were a staple of this young man's game at the WR spot, but he was a threat after the catch because Lewis is very challenging to bring down on first contact. Lewis has very strong hands on film, where he does not body catch the ball often. Talented player at Iona Prep that will continue to develop at both CB and WR.</p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline">Linebackers:</span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">This 5'9” LB that has a lot of juice coming off the LOS and can shoot into gaps with speed. Flexible ability at getting low within his tackling form. Ciavarri has good lateral movement to slide into the designated gap to make a tackle on the ball carrier. Is not afraid to get physical with blockers, and he sets the edge well when defending against the run game at the OLB position. When operating on the inside, he shows tremendous hustle when sent on blitzes to get after the passer and finish. A bright player on the defensive side for Pittsford Mendon. </p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Sound player who was able to be a tough player in the trenches at the TE and OLB positions. During his playing experience at the TE spot, he was able to make some outstanding grabs in coverage. Johnson will make impactful blocks to set up big gains for his teammates. Additionally, he is very aggressive at the OLB position. Balanced with solid lateral movement ability. Chasing after the ball carrier throughout the whistle is a constant. Being able to control his awareness as he continues to develop will be evident at the OLB position.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Read and reacts with a lot of patience. Smooth hips and quick feet coming off the snap of the ball at the LB spot. The ability to shoot into gaps with quickness and aggressiveness was evident. Furthermore, the coverage ability at the LB spot was at a high level. Tackles with great form and makes outstanding one-on-one tackles throughout his tape. At the FB position, he was able to display his receiving aspect on top of being a physical blocker in the run game. Being able to flip his hips did show on a deep coverage play. This is a ball player that loves to lean on his athletic traits when covering receivers deep down the field. Nevertheless, when attacking ball carriers brought his way, he would get low and attack at the legs of the opponents to wrap them up.
