Look For Top Underclass DBs On Sunday

In this article:
When it comes to recruiting the state of Florida, college coaches know exactly what positions to look at first.
If you check the past five plus decades and look at which positions have had the most success in the Sunshine State when it comes to sending top-flight football players to the next level and beyond, the defensive secondary is a place where you need to look at.
When former Plantation American Heritage standout Pat Surtain II was recently named as the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year, it certainly was no mistake. Through the decades, it's cornerbacks and safeties who seem to surface collegiately as well as at the professional level from this talented state.
When the top football talent heads to the Under Armour Next Football Camp Series at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando on Sunday, there will be some quality prospects in all classes.
As the spotlight will certainly shine on the rising senior (2026) class, and for good reason, some of that attention will also spill over to the rising juniors (2027), rising sophomores (202e incoming freshmen (2029).
As the many stars from central, west and north Florida do their thing, looking to leave their mark with recruiting services, news media and fan websites, keep an eye on the rising secondary performers.
As we continue to count down to the 200-plus invitees on Sunday, we have some younger defensive backs that are ready to take center stage.
Check out these 2027 prospects:
