Future Stars: Region 5-6A

We take a look at some of the players we think will have a impact at their program over the next 3 seasons. A few have already produced on the field while the others are patiently waiting their opportunity.    The 5'10 170 RB/LB showed a glimpse last season of what is to come.   The Cherokee High rising Sophomore is a tough, solid built downhill runner with good speed and vision. Hearn caught our Scouts attention during his Middle School years with his physical running style. A multisport standout that hit the 11.8 100m mark during his middle school years. He had a couple of 100-yd games on the Freshman team last season and showed the ability to hit the edge and turn on the burners. An excellent all around athlete that will be a big contributor down the road for the Warriors.     Kind of hard to call Belyeu a "Future" star when he is already a star at the varsity level. He was name 1st Team All Region after rushing for over 1000-yds and scoring 15 TDs during his Freshman season. The 6'0 210 bruiser averaged over 8.5 ypc on his 127 attempts.   A Prep Redzone Combine Alumni that I saw personally last Spring at the Middle School Combine. Outstanding speed and agility for a RB his size. He is not just a physical North South runner but posses the speed to break away from the defense in the open field. Ranked as the #3 RB in the '28 Class with numerous offers already. Future National recruit.     Rakestraw is a big, strong, nasty DL for the North Paulding Wolfpack. A physical kid at NG that plays with a high motor. He saw action last season in 7 varsity games on a veteran squad with 12 TT and a sack. A workout warrior that has weight room maxes of 350 BP and 275 PC. Limited film from last season but his Freshman film showed his athletic potential. A physical tacker that had several multi sack games, forced a few fumbles and returned a pick 6 for a TD. Rakestraw will be one to keep an eye on going forward as his role should expand.     Opore hit a growth spurt since his middle school years and is now up to 6'3 180. He was a big hit in the latest recruiting cycle with Charlotte, FIU and Georgia Southern extending offers to the rising Sophomore WR/DB.   He is not only gifted with size but he has a high football IQ and is an outstanding route runner. The rising sophomore has elite speed and hands and can get you YAC. He has the potential to be a standout on both sides of the ball at the 6A level. An excellent DB prospect that has the length and speed to give WRs fits . He had 5 catches last Fall for 95 yards and 2 TDs but you can expect those numbers to climb this season. Opore will be a Prep Redzone rankings riser this Fall.     Anderson is still under the radar on the State Wide scale but he proved last Fall that he can play in the States highest classification. He was 2nd on the Blue Devils last season in receptions with 35 and had over 300 yards receiving with 3 TDs.   He may not be as tall as some of the other young WRs in the Region but he has great hands and doesn't mind catching the ball in traffic. Tracks the ball in the air as well as anyone and made several acrobatic catches over the defenders shoulder. Physical after the catch and has the speed to get YAC. Marietta has a lot of talent in their Sophomore class. Anderson will be a big part of their success over the next 2 seasons.
