Our Winter rankings update pinpointed even more players from the 2026, 2027 and 2028 classes who have stood out in their respective positions. For a variety of reasons, our team decided that each of those new additions were worthy of a coveted spot in our rankings.

But we'd be naive to think we've evaluated everyone or didn't miss a few along the way.

The changing of the guard happens year after year, and, as such, PRZ South Carolina is constantly looking at as many of the 10,000-plus prep football players in the SCHSL and SCISA ranks as possible.

Now, the Community Film Room is back.

In each edition, we'll break down five unranked players from across the state to let you see what we're seeing. The series will lead right into the the start of the spring rankings cycle, the ever-growing importance of the summer program schedules and then the 2025 season.

In Episode 58, we're kicking off the next season of our CFR by breaking down five players at different positions and different pockets of the state.

Sneed went from really solid linebacker to influential playmaker in the month of November. The linebacker had six tackles, a tackle for loss and a sack in a narrow loss to Cane Bay, forced a fumble in the playoff opener against Westwood and picked off his only pass of the year in the loss to White Knoll.

Sneed keeps his head on a swivel from the middle of the linebacking corps and then knows how to make his pursuit angles work. Most importantly, he ties together the rest of a defense already loaded with other rising seniors.

Royals wasn't supposed to be the heart of the Braves' offense, position notwithstanding. But then receiver [player_tooltip player_id='413888' first='Josh' last='Brown'] and promising newcomer [player_tooltip player_id='1467828' first='London' last='Wilder'] both went down with injuries. After those two went down in the first two games of the year, Royals put up 13 total passing/rushing touchdowns against five turnovers.

Considering he was sacked 14 times in the regular season alone, and those figures were even more meaningful. Royals is gritty, and his scrambling and ability to throw from different spots and arm angles is an oft-ignored strength of this offense.

McCrary's motor comes across in his film.
Every year, even with a staff of seven, we get to this point of the calendar and ask ourselves “How did this kid get past us?” Yeah, that's Boyd. The Griffins' receiver has a top-end speed that he uses to chase down what should be uncatchable passes or ditch defenders and possesses a tailback's mindset when he's got the ball in traffic.

What pushes him over the top is how well he runs a variety of sweeps. He finds holes, and when he's near the sideline, he's instinctively switching the ball to his outer arm. We think 2025 is going to be huge for him.

Watch the clip at the :35-second mark and you'll see exactly why Central gets its starting safety on the field in other ways. Because while Davis has a violent streak when making tackles and has created a bunch of turnovers his all-around athleticism is apparent. It's why Central has already used him in occasional offensive sets.
