[player_tooltip player_id='1242831' first='Brady' last='Wall'] has made significant progress since taking over as the starting QB in his sophomore year, and Wall led the Wildcats this season to their highest single-season win total since 2014. Wall threw for 1893 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 7 picks. He added 434 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. Wall is an impressive athlete with a great arm, and the team was far more confident with letting Wall air the ball out more this season, which made Maquoketa Valley exceptionally dangerous offensively. Wall should be due for a huge senior campaign next season.

Leading a Raiders' offense that is largely a run-heavy team, Jackson Ruggles got more opportunities to throw in his junior season, and he looked much sharper in his second season as a starter. Ruggles finished with 975 yards, 10 touchdowns, and only 2 picks. He added 541 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. Ruggles is one of the fastest QBs in the class, with an impressive 4.5 40 yard time, and he showed a lot of growth with his accuracy on the run and his deep throw ability. Ruggles is an exciting athlete that should receive a lot more attention heading into his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1614201' first='Cal' last='Bonifas'] struggled playing in garbage time as a sophomore, so it was a pleasant surprise for Bellevue when Bonifas found his stride when he took the starting QB job in 2024. Bonifas finished with 1928 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 8 picks this season. Bonifas looked very confident in the pocket, and he made some impressively accurate throws, especially in the redzone. I was very impressed with his improvisational skills, being able to elude defenders and extend the play to find his receivers down the field. Bonifas led Bellevue to their best win total since 2018, and Bellevue could become a legitimate contender in Class A heading into 2025 with Bonifas leading the way.

Kingsley-Pierson saw a new QB name arise in 2024 in Landon Howe, and Howe delivered a solid first year to show that he can hold his ground under Center. Howe threw for 1316 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions, while adding 5 rushing touchdowns. Howe showed solid ball placement and deep accuracy, and while he still has room to grow on finding his footing in the pocket, Howe shows big-play potential as a QB that can stretch the ball vertically. If Howe can find more consistency over the air, the ceiling will be very high for Howe going forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1615325' first='Karter' last='Murphy'] is a dynamic playmaker for Wayne's offense, and he's given the team something to be excited for going forward. Murphy finished with 682 passing yards, 6 touchdowns, and 7 picks. He led the team with 1231 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns, averaging 8 yards per carry. Murphy is quick, agile, and dangerous as an open-field runner, and he was able to break away many big runs for the offense last season. As a passer, he still needs to find his groove on a consistent basis, but he's shown potential throwing from the pocket and on the run. Murphy led Wayne to their first winning season since 2019, and he could help Wayne make a run in the playoffs in his senior year.

Seth Kregel is another wild card prospect to watch in 2025, but he showed considerable growth as a junior after struggling heavily in his first year as a starter. Kregel threw for 1011 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, while rushing for 274 yards and 4 touchdowns. These numbers don't look impressive, but considering that he had less than 300 passing yards and 1 touchdown throw as a sophomore, Kregel gained more confidence throwing the ball, showing resilience and tenacity in the pocket. Kregel could be due to make the jump in 2025 as one of the biggest underdogs in the class.
