After a huge breakout campaign in his sophomore year, [player_tooltip player_id='1242935' first='Brock' last='Badding']'s numbers diminished a bit in 2024, though he's undeniably one of the best QBs in this group to watch in 2025. Badding finished with 2150 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 9 picks, while adding 4 touchdowns on the ground. Badding's ball placement and accuracy continued to look extremely sharp, even when throwing off his back foot, and his excellent pocket presence helped Kuemper Catholic finish with their best record since 2016. If Badding can improve on his footwork next season, the Knights' offense could be unstoppable next season.

Landon DeStiger was unexpectedly thrust into the starting QB role in 2024, and he ended up filling those shoes extremely well in his first year as a starter. DeStiger threw for 1633 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions, while adding 3 touchdowns on the ground. DeStiger is a tall, lean QB who's able to fit some nice touch throws over defenders to get to his WRs, showing great poise in the pocket, and being able to scramble when the pocket collapses. DeStiger is also an excellent Point Guard for his basketball team. DeStiger should be an intriguing athlete to watch from this group in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1221948' first='Jaxon' last='Paulsrud'] has made excellent progress since making his transition as the starting QB in his sophomore season, and he's solidified his spot as one of the most electrifying athletes to watch in this division. Paulsrud threw for 968 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 7 picks last season. He also ran for 866 yards and 9 touchdowns. Paulsrud is undeniably dangerous in the open-field, but he's clearly making improvement as a passer, showing much better ball placement and touch on his throws. If Paulsrud continues to improve his skills as a pocket passer, there's no telling how high the ceiling will be for him in his senior year.

While Unity Christian struggled last season, Dylan Bosma showed strides in his growth as the starting QB for the Knights in his second year as a starter. Bosma threw for 1340 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 9 picks, while rushing for 248 yards and 5 touchdowns. Bosma showed much more restraint this season with his passing, which resulted in fewer turnovers than his sophomore campaign. Bosma looked a lot more comfortable in the pocket, which allowed for his accuracy and impressive cannon of an arm to be on display a lot more in 2024. Bosma could lead Unity Christian to a turn around in his senior campaign to claim their first winning record since 2021.

Despite playing for a run-heavy team, Noah Harris has shown solid progress over the last two seasons as the starter for Clarinda. In 2024, Harris threw for 629 yards, 8 touchdowns, and only 2 picks. He also ran for 523 yards and 4 touchdowns. Harris continued to showcase his dynamic playmaking ability as a dual-threat. He's shown that he can outrace the secondary with his legs, and he looked a lot sharper with his ball placement and being able to fit the ball perfectly above the defender in 1-on-1 throws. Harris should get some more opportunities to throw heading into his senior year to help further polish his pocket passing skills.

Charlie Sager had big shoes to fill in 2024 after the graduation of previous starting QB Bryce Buckley. While Sager did struggle in periods as Camanche ended up declining this year, Sager did show glimpses of great leadership in the pocket. Sager threw for 1430 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 12 picks. Sager was not afraid to take chances down the field in tight coverage, showing some sharp accuracy on his deep throws and being able to get the ball threw tight windows on several occasions. Sager definitely has room to improve, but he's a QB that could be under the radar to have a break through in 2025.

While Interstate 35 struggled in 2024, the Roadrunners found a promising leader under Center with the emergence of junior Hutch Howard. Howard threw for 912 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. His 9 touchdowns were the most by an Interstate 35 QB since 2019. Howard's play-style was very interesting to watch, as he seemed to throw a bit from awkward angles, and still be able to hit his passes with excellent placement and great strength. Howard is easily one of the most promising QBs coming out of Interstate 35 in years, and he certainly should not be ignored in Class 2A.

Brady Gogel was another QB who succeeded a largely successful QB in Preston Ries. Gogel struggled a bit in his first year as a starter, but he also showed moments of great potential in the pocket. Gogel finished with 1280 passing yards, 7 touchdowns, and 7 picks, while rushing for 371 yards and 6 touchdowns. Gogel had moments where he showed great accuracy and timing, particularly on his 1-on-1 passes, and also reading through his progressions well to make the smart throw. Gogel will be another QB that could see exponential growth in his performance in his senior campaign.
