The 2025 Prep Redzone 7v7 Circuit kicked off in north Texas with the second annual Lonestar State Showdown. It was a great weekend of football in Frisco and we have a ton of content dropping, looking at some of the best players that stood out. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at 940 Elite and their 18U program. They brought two teams in the 18U division and we're highlighting several players from their main team as well as a QB on the second team that played incredibly well. 940 Elite was without a doubt one of the best programs in the tournament overall. Their 15U team won that division and their 14U and 12U teams made it to the championship game. Keep it locked into Prep Redzone for more coverage of this weekend's Lonestar State Showdown!

[player_tooltip player_id='1562516' first='Derrick' last='Martin'] - 2027 Running Back

940 Elite had some absolute dudes all over the field and that was definitely the case on the offensive side of the ball. 2027 running back [player_tooltip player_id='1562516' first='Derrick' last='Martin'] was a player that impressed us on Saturday with his ability to make catch after catch and he definitely looked like he belonged on a field with some standout wide receivers as well. Looking at Martin's game, he's an emerging running back prospect in the state's 2027 class but he's definitely considered an all purpose weapon and the ceiling right now is obviously a high one. His stock is definitely pointing up and his performance this weekend in Frisco only helped that. Shortly before the tournament, Martin was offered by Tulsa. He was definitely one of our top standouts from Saturday's games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1556736' first='Jayden' last='Maples'] - 2026 Quarterback

940 Elite had two different 18U teams running around on Saturday and Sunday. While a lot of the notable names were on one team, we had to check out and see if they had some dogs on the second team. We weren't disappointed. 2026 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1556736' first='Jayden' last='Maples'] really threw the ball incredibly well throughout the afternoon on Saturday. The wind started picking up throughout the day but that wasn't a problem for Maples, and that was apparent when he was driving the ball into the wind. The 2026 signal caller is starting to see his recruitment take off as well. He reported an offer from Southern Miss last week and several other programs have him on their radar. When we look at the overall list of 18U quarterbacks, Maples was definitely near the top.

[player_tooltip player_id='1345289' first='Jordan' last='Deck'] - 2026 Defensive Back

2026 safety [player_tooltip player_id='1345289' first='Jordan' last='Deck'] is one of the more sought-after defensive backs, not only in Texas but in the country. Deck is definitely in the conversation for being the top DB prospect in the state's 2026 class and as a safety, you could make the argument that he's the top guy in the country. The first thing that stands out about him when you watch him in person is the size. Deck immediately looks the part at the safety position and then you watch him move around and you see an athlete that could be one of the top guys at his position. We also caught up with Deck following the games on Saturday and he mentioned Notre Dame (among others) as a school that's really standing out to him. Deck was one of the top overall prospects in attendance this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1321191' first='Tatum' last='Bell II'] - 2026 Wide Receiver

2026 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1321191' first='Tatum' last='Bell II'] was another '26 prospect that was on our shortlist of guys that we wanted to see up close throughout the weekend in Frisco and he did not disappoint. We got a chance to watch Bell in several games on Saturday and the overall wide receiver skillset is apparent and he made some outstanding catches. But the thing that stood out to us the most was his acceleration. Bell is not a small wide receiver and we can only imagine what it's like trying to bring him down with the pads on. Defenders just had to tag Bell for him to be down this weekend but that won't work on Friday nights. When Bell gets going in the open field, he gets from Point A to Point B in the blink of an eye. He was very impressive and was another example of being one of the best guys at his position.

[player_tooltip player_id='378817' first='Tre' last='Williams'] - 2027 Quarterback

940 Elite had one of the better 2026 quarterbacks in attendance this weekend and they also had one of the better 2027 quarterbacks in attendance. [player_tooltip player_id='378817' first='Tre' last='Williams'] was QB1 of one of the teams and he definitely impressed us throughout the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday in particular, Williams was calm, cool and collected and he was on target with just about every throw that we watched. Looking into Williams a little more over the last few days, he's one of the top quarterbacks in the state's 2027 class and he's definitely on the rise after a breakout sophomore season in the fall. Williams was throwing with anticipation this weekend in Frisco and while there's no doubt 940 Elite has weapons, Williams was one of them on offense.
