As we near the end of the month of February, the 2025 high school football offseason has officially begun! With that in mind, we are in the midst of our latest round of rankings updates with the 2027 class being the latest to be posted in the state of Kentucky. After already covering the top players at each position in the class, I wanted to take some time to focus on some players who saw their ranking rise in our latest update. To kick things off, here are some notable stock risers in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky on the offensive side of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1050315' first='Max' last='Johnson'] had a breakout year as a sophomore, completing 143/225 passes for 2,001 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 10 games. Johnson has a cannon for an arm which he uses to lead his receivers down the field in the deep passing game. He also has shown the ability to escape the pocket while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. Max also has shown the ability to tuck the ball and make plays with his legs when needed, finishing this past season with 82 carries for 118 yards and four touchdowns. Johnson's recruitment has started to heat up as he has picked up offers from Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee Tech.

[player_tooltip player_id='1284261' first='AJ' last='Lee'] is another 2027 quarterback who stood out to me this past season. As a sophomore, Lee completed 160/254 passes for 1,883 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 10 games. AJ has a great feel for pressure, showing the ability to scramble outside when necessary while keeping his eyes down the field to make tough throws on the run. He has also shown impressive accuracy, showing the ability to fit passes into tight windows where only his intended receiver can catch it. Lee is also a serious threat as a ball carrier, finishing his sophomore year with 99 carries for 405 yards and three touchdowns. AJ doesn't currently hold any offers but he should be a player to keep an eye on heading into his junior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200730' first='Jamarion' last='Gardner'] is a player who has been on our radar for a while now and has continued to climb up our rankings following a strong sophomore season. He finished the year with 154 carries for 1,156 yards and 10 touchdowns in 11 games. Gardner is very shifty in the open field, showing the ability to make quick cuts to make defenders miss with ease. He also has explosive speed which he uses to run away from the defense on long runs. Gardner also caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown as a sophomore. Jamarion doesn't currently hold any offers but he is a player who college coaches should be paying close attention to over the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id='741221' first='Jonathan' last='Miller'] is a player who caught my attention with some strong sophomore year film. Miller lined up mainly at right guard where he was dominant as a run blocker. He showed that he could be trusted as a puller, showing the ability to get out in front of the ball carrier as a lead blocker and pick up blocks in open space. Miller plays with a ton of physicality, showing the initial punch to knock defenders off their feet with ease. Jonathan doesn't currently hold any offers but he will be a player to watch as he continues to develop.

My final notable offensive stock riser from the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky is [player_tooltip player_id='1200564' first='Tayden' last='Lorenzen']. Lorenzen did a little bit of everything in the Highlands offense as a sophomore. He did the most damage as an H-Back/tight end, finishing the year with 31 receptions for 363 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games. Lorenzen showed great contested catch ability, showing the concentration and strong hands to make catches through contact. He also spent some time at quarterback, mainly as a rushing threat, where he proved to be a strong downhill runner. Tayden finished his sophomore year with 33 carries for 190 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw two touchdown passes. Lorenzen doesn't currently hold any offers but he will be an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on as he has the ability to play multiple positions.
