2026 Rankings: It's Puntin' Time!

Special teams is often overlooked when it comes to high school sports however, it is once of the most crucial parts of the game. Punting is very important in flipping field position and putting your defense in a good position to succeed. I wanted to highlight the punters of our 2026 rankings. Let's dive into the analysis.    The 5'9 142-pound K/P had a nice junior season. His legs were used a lot as the kick off specialist, punter, and field goal kicker. Long had 50 kick offs for 2698 yards and 19 touchbacks. Average of 54.0 yards per kick off. As a punter, 23 punts for 905 yards with a 39.3 yards per punt. Long shined at the PAT. He went 36/40 spouting a 90% rate. His field goal percent was 60% going 4/7 with his longest being 40 yards. I'm interested to see how Long does in his senior year. He has a nice touch on the ball when he kicks it, and has shown to be accurate from shorter distances.     Hubbard had a nice season for Centaurus. He has solid kick power and good kick accuracy as both a kicker and punter. He had 52 kick offs for 1434 yards, and 12 touchbacks. He averaged 27.6 per kick off. Hubbard shines a punter. He punted 19 times for 596 yards, spouting the ball twice in the 20. His longest punt was 61 yards with an average of 31.4. Good PAT, going 20/23. On field goal attempts he went 5/6 with his longest being 28 yards.     Daniels continued have a nice season as a punter for the Air Academy. He was used as a punter with the occasional field goal. He also got some reps on the offensive side. Daniels punted 26 times for 934 yards with 69 yards being his longest. He averaged 35.9 yards per punt. 10 total kicking points. On PAT attempts, he went 4/6. On field goal attempts, he went 2/2. 7 receptions for 113 yards and 3 touchdowns. He has very good athletic ability and made an impact on the offensive side. Daniels is a versatile weapon not only in special teams. I'm excited to see how the Air Academy uses him next season.     Casillas is a dual sport athlete who also excels at soccer. He brought his very good kick power to his football team and played as both a punter and kicker. Casillas was the kick off specialist, punter, and field goal kicker. He had 20 kick offs for 179 yards and 8 touchbacks. Casillas had 12 punts for 413 yards, with it landing 4 times inside the 20. Longest was 52 yards with 34.4 yards per punt. He went 22/24 on PATs, and 4/9 on field goals with his longest being 45 yards. Totaled 34 points for his team. He has good kick accuracy, and I was impressed with his accuracy at longer ranges.     Medina was all over the place. He played as a tight end, punter, and defensive athlete. 15 punts for 419 yards and 2 inside the 20. 55 was his longest with an average of 27.9 yards per punt. 21 receptions for 260 yards. 34 total tackles (19 solo, 15 assisted). Medina's good athletic ability helps him excel at multiple positions. He has good kick power and good kick accuracy. Good acceleration, speed, and change of direction. I wouldn't be surprised if his team wants to run fake punts due to his athleticism.
