Prep Redzone Louisiana's winter rankings process kicked off this past week with the latest 2025 update.

And a few familiar faces made additional pushes further up the list on the heels of productive senior seasons — and, in many cases, impactful playoff runs.

Here's a look at the 10 prospects ranked between No. 51 and No. 100 who made the biggest leaps, each moving up at least five spots from their preseason position.

[player_tooltip player_id='1214142' first='Cam' last='Riley'] — 5-11, 170 DB — Neville

The multisport start was a key piece of a loaded Neville secondary and salty team overall this fall that won its first nine games of the season, earned a No. 1 playoff seed and reached the semifinals for the first time since 2021. Riley is a long cornerback whose physicality on the outside epitomized the identity the Tigers hung their hats on overall. He finished his senior season with 63 tackles and four interceptions before signing with the Ragin' Cajuns where he looks not to be a key piece of both the football and baseball signing classes in Lafayette.

No. 55 [player_tooltip player_id='546455' first='Erv' last='Smith'] — 6-2, 285 OL — Catholic (Baton Rouge)

The smart, versatile lineman was a leader for a Bears offensive line that was a major factor in the team continuing to look like one of the best in the state much of the season despite its notable graduations from the 2023 title group. The Louisiana Tech commit shows good explosiveness firing out of his stance and driving defenders back at first contact and plays with great tenacity and some nastiness, always driving and playing through the whistle. And Smith possessed enough athleticism to be utilized effectively out of the backfield in some goal-line packages.

No. 57 [player_tooltip player_id='710083' first='Zheric' last='Hill'] — 6-0, 210 LB — Ruston

The Bearcats' longtime playmaker stepped into even more of a lead and leadership role — and big shoes — as a senior and helped lead the program to its third straight title-game appearance with his District 2-5A Defensive MVP performance. Hill finished his final high school season with 108 tackles, including 10.5 for loss and three sacks, pus two interceptions and four pass breakups against one of the state's toughest schedules. The Louisiana Tech signee is a smart, quick sideline-to-sideline linebacker who has made as many big plays in coverage the past three seasons as any player at the position around the state.

No. 59 [player_tooltip player_id='1214144' first='Oliver' last='Mitchell Jr.'] — 6-3, 175 WR — Edna Karr

Mitchell earned Edna Karr's revered No. 5 jersey as a senior, a testament to his character and leadership that deserves mention. And from a playmaking standpoint, even sharing targets with a pair of fellow Division-I receivers, the Tulane signee found ways to make his presence felt and make the most of his opportunities. The tall, long target with the wide catch radius is a reliable weapon to keep the chains moving, but also showed some elusiveness after the catch to bust some bigger gains.

No. 65 [player_tooltip player_id='710286' first='Trenton' last='Chaney'] — 5-9, 160 WR/ATH — Lutcher

The dynamic receiving weapon also showed some positional versatility — and toughness and vision — in his accepting and excelling in a heavy load at running back for his Bulldogs. Chaney carried 99 times for 946 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior, while still serving as one of the state's most explosive perimeter weapons with 33 catches for 603 yards and seven touchdowns — averages of 9.6 yards per run and 18.3 yards per catch. While the Ragin' Cajuns are expected to utilize him primarily out of the slot, he clearly brings some intriguing potential to be utilized at a speedy chess piece capable of stretching the field in every direction and stressing opposing defenses in a variety of ways.

No. 67 [player_tooltip player_id='710079' first='Xavier' last='Ford'] — 5-11, 190 RB — Leesville

The Wampus Cats' prolific running back doesn't have the same top-end speed or wiggle as his highest-ranked peers in Louisiana's loaded class at the position. But the results got increasingly difficult to ignore by the week this fall as the solidly built back with not great, but still good speed racked up a state-record 3,467 yards and 52 touchdowns on 332 carries, including his share of long breakaways — plus 13 catches for another 239 yards and four scores. Houston and Tulane have been among the programs most consistently linked to the nephew of former LSU standout Michael Ford as the spring signing period approaches.

No. 69 [player_tooltip player_id='291082' first='Amari' last='Clayton'] — 6-2, 195 WR — Catholic (Baton Rouge)

With a pair of new quarterbacks stepping into big shoes, Clayton was a consistently reliable target in key situations near the goal line, on conversion downs or in two-minute scenarios late in halves and games. The solidly built high school receiver tracks the ball well, catches everything thrown his way and showed good focus and reaction to do so even on deflected balls. And he flashed some of his three-sport athleticism on plays in the air or getting more involved at times this season in the screen game than he had in seasons past. He heads to Nicholls State for college where former Catholic coach Gabe Fertitta was recently announced as the Colonels' new offensive coordinator.

No. 75 [player_tooltip player_id='291145' first='William' last='Patrick'] — 6-2, 205 DB — St. Frederick

The biggest question on Patrick from a Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings perspective has always been whether he'd play football — even during a given high school season, let alone at the next level. The LSU baseball signee was highly ranked on our lists as an underclassman safety prospect before word his junior year that he appeared likely to focus on baseball moving forward. Patrick racked up 59 tackles and four interceptions as a senior, earning district Co-Defensive Player of the year honors, and also caught nine passes for 279 yards and five scores and ran 12 times for 142 yards and a touchdown on offense. That strong showing may ultimately have put a bow on his football career, given his high-level baseball opportunities ahead, but would also be a potential Division-I football talent.

No. 83 [player_tooltip player_id='710082' first='Jeremie' last='Elzy'] — 5-11, 170 DB — Covington

The recent Nicholls State commitment makes a big jump back up the rankings after a great senior season as a playmaker for his Lions in all three phases. Elzy continued to develop physically — listed another inch taller and 10 pounds bigger — and played like it as a solid tackler on defense and strong runner on opportunities to carry the ball on offense or in the return game. Elzy finished his senior season with 42 tackles, three interceptions, nine pass breakups and 10 total touchdowns and gives the Colonels a nice addition of a smart, high-character sleeper of a defensive back with good ball skills late in the cycle.

No. 90 [player_tooltip player_id='144896' first='Julius' last='Moss'] — 5-9, 185 ATH — Calvary Baptist

Continuing to serve as one of the Cavaliers' defensive leaders, the versatile athlete also earned more opportunities than ever as a senior to play in the running back role he's expected to move into full-time in college with Air Force. The well-rounded athlete with a solid build, explosive burst and good ball skills carried 69 times as a senior for 502 yards, eight touchdowns and the first two 100-yard games of his career and caught eight passes for another 79 yards on an offense loaded with wide receiver weapons. And on defense, he still wrapped up 45 tackles, including eight for loss.
